I think Polly's done the right thing. That, however, leaves Michael in the lurch. I don't think he's done anything wrong other than marking himself as not putting family first by very clearly not telling Tommy. Flyn(n?) on the other hand has just admitted he couldn't pull the trigger, which means he's destined to shoot chief Sicilian.

I can't help seeing Littlefinger all the time though.

    Good spot

    5000/1?

Not much of a fan then. You’d get shorter odds for the second coming of Christ.

Im I falling into a bear trap here? 5000/1 were the odds offered when we won the prem in 15/16

We’re upto speed with this now. Absolutely superb stuff!

I thought s3 was pretty good, with no real decline in quality. Perhaps binge watching means the story holds together better?

There is and it gets updated pretty often after each episode.
    It's quite heavy listening though!

    Good in general though.
Over the last several episodes the shooting has been getting worse. And I don't mean the cinematography.

First an ambush with Lee Enfield rifles...none too accurate.

Now a Lewis gun and a pistol at close range...none too effective. Not to mention the Tommy guns...

I don’t know much about guns but they would have likely been using Lee Enfield rifles wouldn’t they ? If not what else would they be able to get hold of? I thought a pistol would be the weapon of choice at close range? He was using the Lewis gun to fire down at them from the first floor which didn’t seem that close range.
The shoot outs are getting a bit Hollywood with Tommy seemingly being able to dodge bullets from the machine guns as sparks fly from the railings.

I wan't questioning the choice of weapons...they all seem appropriate to the setting. Rather, I wondered about their apparent lack of effect. Four targets in the open with a Lewis gun (500 rounds/min) at 20 to 30 metre range and he only hits one of them? However, he only had 47 rounds without changing the magazine.

Ah sorry I misunderstood, I agree and it has spoilt this series a bit for me. Great script though and Tom Hardy is fantastic, no idea how the yanks understand him though.

Yes, Tom Hardy tends to overdo it sometimes imo, but in Peaky it’s suited the part. Very entertaining.

I agree with “how the hell did he manage to fire so many shots without killing them”, and if he knew they were following him, why didn’t he have reinforcements waiting in the tenement block?

Still, it’ll make for a great finale.

Yep, the Italian is a serious case of miscasting, I just wonder if he is there to appeal to the American audience, can’t think of another reason.

Worst of the PBs to date I'm afraid. Serious credulity issues. Who is Tommy going to battle in the next series? Aliens from outer space? Oi Martians Naaawww! By order of the Peaky Blinders!

Tom Hardy (Alfie) made me chuckle, £100 cause your a wop, and another £100 because you're a bit of a cnut..

  28. #128
I've enjoyed the series too (on the whole), but have found the pace a bit lacking at times compared to early series. I love Tom Hardy's character but not half as much as the missus loves Tom Hardy .

Powerfull - if you're in any doubt about watching this series - start from the beginning.

I think, in fairness to Adrien Brody, they probably wanted that kind of character from him, since he's obviously capable of more subtle performances.

Part of the appeal of PB is the OTT characters IMO. It ain't meant to be subtle.

I get the impression the actors have a ball playing their parts. I'll miss Tom Hardy in the next series - he had some of the best lines without a doubt.

The storyline will unravel in time, I think Peaky Blinders will have to go back to basics to earn money due to the Wall St crash, also Tommy will use his position as MP to his advantage. That’s my take FWIW
