Is it wrong of me to like this watch?

I already have the new Speedmaster Professional with the ridiculous box and really can't justify having another so I'm on the hunt for a 70s Heuer Autavia

No. It's awesome. Literally a thousand times better than the snoopy watch.

Lots of these available on Chrono24 now, mostly around £7500.

That also means lots more 'real world' photos to examine. I think it looks great in some but in others it looks like it's riding the 'fauxtina' wave too hard. In the best photos it looks like a vintage Speedy, which makes me want to find a real vintage Speedy.

That reminds me, my monthly e-mail off Omega must be due any day now, sorry lad - Oct seems to be turning into Nov now for your Greedy Tuesday as it has been accurately nicknamed.

Seems that more of these are landing each week now.

    Some good photos here:

    http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/fir...k-4543767.html

The watch itself looks great but I'm not sure about the accessories. The bracelet clasp is too bulky and the leather strap doesn't look quite right - the stitching is too white and it seems like Omega are trying to emulate the Bullang/JPM straps but without the artisan/rustic charm. Maybe producing such straps on a large scale doesn't work?

At least one was sold on OF citing the bulky clasp. Is it really that bad?

So much for all the hype, these seem to be available if you want one.

Nicely done. I don't have the railmaster, but I do have a ST to fill the gap... I'm slightly tempted, though.

    From where?

I’ve asked 3local ADs and they all said "No chance!"

There is one listed on chrononext at a premium there’s a Tuesday as well

I can’t be the only one confused by all the models I spent ages looking.

    Of course!

I wonder what Omega have got planned for that one? Maybe a Buzz Aldrin triple watch collection as seen here?:

Here it is, yours for £7,720:

    https://www.chronext.co.uk/omega/spe...-01-001/C58003

I like looking at watches on Chronext because you can rotate the image 360 degrees. Here you can see the thickness of the clasp - it's not too bad but a thinner clasp would have been more elegant and more vintage looking.

The Tuesday is up for £6400:

    https://www.chronext.co.uk/omega/spe...-01-001/C57599

So the 60th is £2380 above list and the Tuesday £2300 above list.

Agreed I did get lucky but I was given the impression that allocations are not all being taken but I may well be wrong

edited to add, I wasn't on a list for this it was a call to see if I would be interested.

In reality the main differences come down to natural vs faux aged S-L lume and the straight lug case design vs the crown guard version. The straight lug case has a slightly smaller and less convenient 19mm lug width too. For whatever reason, the 3594 never really took off, the similarity with the 60th may give it a bit of a bump in value but they are still available for not much more than the std Moonwatch in the used market.

I've always liked the 3594.50 and looking at prices, they look to be a comparative bargain.
