Don't think the sideboard has any value but the two chests are quite stylish.
Bit of a long shot I know, but since the wide spread of knowledge on this forum never ceases to amaze me, I thought I'd ask the question.
I have acquired some old furniture (60's I believe) and was wondering if anyone can give me any info and possible value on them.
Thanks

Don't think the sideboard has any value but the two chests are quite stylish.
First two look between the wars, probably twenties, esp. the first one which has a very distinctive feet and lovely handles.
Last one looks fifties to me.
Nothing I recognise from my furniture days, but I really like that sideboard.
Post war style. Strangely common of late and not currentl in vogue. Price just depends who/where it's being sold.....could get £50 self advertised locally or £500 in some trendy London shop (the shop being the key to a high price due to perception of value from a shop, where the owner must know what they are talking about)

I got fairly familiar with vintage/antique furniture prices a while back when we moved into our new house.
What I discovered was that even antique furniture, of reasonable quality, can be purchased very cheaply.
The very high end burr walnut stuff is expensive, but the rest isn't.
Have a look on ebay for a guide, and you'll be surprised how cheap it can be picked up for.
My best buy was a bow fronted chest of drawers, bought from a dealer - polished and absolutely stunning - £150
Quite like the first 2 chests- maybe a hint of "arts and crafts" about those, i see similar things go through the local auction house for 50-100 quid
Sideboard not to my style, but i know several people who like this era .Again, doubt it would fetch much unless its a rare or well known designer/maker.

When I moved house last year I bought the contents as the vendor had moved abroad. Sold what i didn't want on gum tree, but not much value in second hand furniture.

Sofas are the best, we bought £4000s worth of sofa and chair, four years old for £200.
Look on Gumtree and weep at how low prices can be for decent furniture. Being prepared to deliver anywhere in London would help the price you could command on these, significantly
I think these are great. Unfortunately the second-hand market for 'brown' furniture is pretty terrible for sellers at the moment. As Der Amf said, London is probably the best place to advertise but I expect you're looking at a maximum of £100 each for the top two? Maybe £150?
See, I knew the forum wouldn't disappoint.
I appreciated I wasn't sitting on a gold mine, I just didn't want to put them up for sale for £20 if I could get £50/£100 plus.
Thanks all for your feedback.
