    Car boot Sunday...A Miracle...!

You might remember a few weeks ago I bought a longcase clock from the local car boot sale.
Fiddled with it and got it working OK.
Only thing that annoyed me was that the minute hand is broken.

I enquired as to the cost of getting a replacement minute hand made.
    £100 plus VAT.
    Downed a couple of Valium.
Last week I bought a box of clock hands from the same guy who sold me the clock.
Well would anyone believe that on looking through the box of hands this morning I found an exact match:

    Now that's what I call a miracle !
Just setting the new hand so that the clock strikes exactly on the hour.

There was only one poor car boot sale this morning because of the rain.
Bought a little travel alarm and some engineers pliers. That and a few super 8 movies and a pocket telescope.

Rolex and Rembrandts next week maybe.

    Some nice finds there.

You all clearly frequent car boot sales of a much higher calibre than I do!

Well I guess I did pick up a lovely (if slightly ratty) Voightlander B camera last time I went to one for £6, but that was a very good day.
