    PRS-4 bezel problem

Pardon my ignorance on the inner workings of bezels but does anyone know what the problem is with my PRS-4 bezel?
The bezel was rarely used and had never seen salt water.
It had become stiff so I applied a few drops of oil between the bezel and case.
I let it soak in overnight then tried the bezel ( gently).
Something seemed to 'give', and to my alarm I found that it now turns both ways.
    Any ideas?

I am not familiar with the PRS-4 bezel but it sounds like a spring has broken.

Depending on bezel design the spring in question can be a tiny coiled spring or a bent metal spring. Someone who knows the PRS-4 would need to say which it is (or what else it might be).

Sounds like the ratchet pawls need adjusting or the ratchet stamping replacing.

Thanks for the help. I'll take it to my watch repair guy. I'd probably only make things worse if I started tinkering with it.

Pop the bezel off and have a look. There will be a youtube video of what to do.
