Great car especially in the twisties.
Well I turned down a mint Rubystone Red 964 RS for £33k!!!

Oh dear, that has to hurt, unless of course you used the money to buy a couple of dinos for £10k, a DB5 and a 2.7RS with the rest

Hopefully lessons have been learnt this time.

I will gaurentee that that you will not lose money or be crippled by servicing and insurance costs. Unlike some of the rubbish identified about.

Plus it will be hoot to drive.

Failing that and a bit cheaper, how about a 944 Turbo (250bhp) and spend 25k on watches.
You will be lucky to find a 968 Turbo and definitely wont be near the OP's budget. Think they only built a total of 20 something S and RS, I believe the 968 Turbo RS is actually the rarest Porsche RS there is.

But wouldnt argue with getting a sport or CS, ive got one of those stories, nearly bought a white and red CS 9/10 years ago low mileage, think it was 9K but smelt and looked like someones dog had been living
in the back so I passed, front and exterior were immaculate.

    Mercedes R107

SL300. (1988/ 1990) Last of them is galvanised. But still have rust problems. Find a good one and it will go up in value. Get a good colour. Very important. If you want any help, look up The SL Shop on tube. Its bulk head that has the problems. I sold mine and doubled my money last summer, and now its gone way up again. Buying out of season is the best time to get a good deal.

VERY nice and a great choice. :) Probably the last of the 911's that were true 'driver's cars'.

After this they got bloated and soft to appeal to the lard-ass American market.

Thanks! Indeed, one of only 106 UK RHD's made, of which there are less than 90 left and probably less than half of those that have original panels/paint and no modifications.

Somewhat blew the budget I feel

    lovely car by the way.

As an aside I just saw a review of the new 911 RS (4.0). They claim it's the best so far. Quite good value at sub £120k (and I never thought I was say that!)

But please make sure you drive it (and hard!) as much as possible - these cars don't like sitting around and being admired. :)

Yeeeeees, you could say that, nothing else really took my fancy and it's what always hankered after, its an absolute joy to drive and the driving experience and feedback will never be matched again IMHO.

Excellent choice. Had mine since 2006.

Just be careful not to live up to your forum name i.e. go easy in bad conditions and on poorly surfaced roads.

My son has a VERY low mileage BMW Z3M in black with hard and soft top.

Not many left and it has increased in value since he bought it. Great wee car with M3 engine and far lighter body.
