    Urban foxes in Sheffield

I awoke in the early hours of this morning to the sound of a howling banshee. Made a mental not of the time to check the CCTV and this is what I saw and heard. You can select 1080p HD and go full screen if you click through to Youtube.

They’re probably being chased by the urban Otters!

When we visit relatives in Brincliffe we see them all the time-apparently someone up the road feeds them.

    They are quite brazen.

I think it might be calling for a mate.

I’ve heard the fox wail where I am in ha7, first time I get we heard it my wife was convinced that it was injured and made me get up and check the side of the house.

When I was in India back in August we had dogs wailing for what felt like hours in the middle of the night. Neighbouring packs having a wail out resulting in much lost sleep.

We had free range (!) pigs escape about three years ago and they did dig up everyone's lawns , they got rounded up then escaped again and dug more lawns up ! They were rounded up and sent to the sausage factory

Yes, we have two or three foxes in my street (S10). One night last June woke up at about 3 in the morning, and stood at the window enjoying the breeze. Saw a fox with two little cubs cross my garden, very circumspect and choosing a path between the bushes. Very quiet thug, mostly cats around here

Looks like that fox had a rat in its mouth when it returned from behind the car...
I suppose that hunters are not supposed to run around urban streets shooting left and right so it may be safer for foxes in the city than in the countryside. ;-)
What is that godawful machine noise in the background?

It's a new camera and the default audio gain setting was too high, I've changed it now.
