    Interesting Dinner out

Just been round to some new neighbours in my village and found a proper watch nerd. Really interesting collection. Loads of unusual watches including full set of Dirty Dozen. Am persuading him to come on here to post his full collection.....which would be a lot of posts. Apologies for crappy pics. Love these unexpected events!

Wow ok now that was an interesting dinner!! Was that his collection? Or was there more? Love it when we are to find others randomly that understand the passion we share for watches.

Now that is an eclectic collection. Heresy, but part of me regrets not buying that particular B&R a few years back

More...like a lot more. Loads of Rolex's from the 40's. Themed children's watches, Cartier Santos, Oris Jazz collection. Mainly themed around military pieces.

Great guy and lovely wife hope he comes on here.

They indeed have do have a decent number of kids. If this is the same wife she is a fine one to talk as she sported a Rolex GMT as her daily watch and now wants to buy a GS high beat GMT after seeing mine. 😁

Oh and it is amazing what tax credits must be worth these days!

That's cheap. I'd say 6K+ for a really good one. If you can find one that is.

    Edit: Here's mine

Looks like you have a really nice collection there, how realistic do you think the figure of only 20 complete collections worldwide is?

I don't think there'll be many but likely to be more than 20. Who knows who has a full set but keeps it to themselves? There were 15 known sets listed on the now defunct Time514 website. Mine wasn't on it & I don't think the set shown in the OP was either. The stumbling block is likely to be the Grana. Plus they're getting expensive. Plenty show up on eBay, but you've got to be careful & know what the correct dials, case, hands, crown etc. should be. Time514 was a super resource for this

    (Sorry to derail the thread)

Edit: some of the Time514 reference site is archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20170320...m/BritishX.htm
