Liked the story of how he came by the watch. Invited to a cocktail party by Rolex and told to choose a watch, a friend pointed to the Day-Date and told him to pick it as it was the best one. Some good advice.
Not sure if this has been posted I did a quick search, but a nice watch !, Jack is my personal no1 of all time lucky enough to see him compete up close.
A genuine guy and a genuine no1
Hope you enjoy the watch.

I saw this the other day , really enjoyed the story .
What a generation of golfers his was.
The connection with Rolex endures of course. This Day-Date was presented more recently to a captain of the PGA who had reached almost the same heights in his time, but unfortunately I cannot share more specific detail.
Four years studying at St.Andrews and I came to see a number of the big names close up. SkyTV used to pay those of us in the University teams to act as on-course spotters during the Dunhill Cup. Nothing will ever match the leaden silence which filled the Eden Estuary after an expectant Scottish crowd watched Moodgomerie knob his drive just 30 yards into the heather off the 10th tee.

A good read. I'd noticed he always wore this watch however wasn't aware it was his ONLY watch. What a golfer!
