    Dornbluth-upon-Tweed

Enjoyed a very nice evening in the pub with a few fellow TZ-ers last night (thank you gents - really good to meet up), and a chance to collect a strap that Carlton-Browne had for me.

A while back C-B had contacted me about some tweed fabric that he had and planned to get made into straps by a strap maker out in South America that he has used before. Looking at the pictures of the tweed on offer I couldn't resist the blue Donegal tweed as it looked like a great match to one of my favourite watches - the Dornbluth 99.1 - as hopefully the blue flecks in the tweed would enhance the blued steel hands and appliques on the watch.

The straps were duly made and delivered and last night I received mine, so a few quick photos of Dornbluth-upon-Tweed.

Personally I really like both the strap and the combination with the DB.

    Cheers, Rich.

That looks just the ticket! When I sort my life out I do intend to see if there is any interest here for another run.

I would never have thought of that combination but it looks very well.

You have also prompted me to take my 99.1 out of its box and give it a wear; it has been far too long.

    Looks surprisingly good!

As a matter of interest what size is your wrist? Trying to gauge what a Dornbluth would look like on mine.

Looks really good - better than I would've thought. What's next, Harris? Herringbone? Could be the next big thing...

My wrist is 7.25 inch but quite "flat".
The photo is a bit of an awkward angle and the perspective of having the camera close up makes the watch look a tad bigger than it really is (it's a 42mm) - for me it's the perfect sized dress watch.

I like that a lot and I think I'd be interested for my Stowa MO were another run to be made of them.

Looks great and would be interested in one for my 99.1 if you do another run.

I'd be interested in one if there is another run. Grey or green tweed would be a nice option too.

When I read the header, I was really hesitant about how this would look like. Judging by my surprise, it was really good.
You have to dare something new and with this combo you succeeded.

Further to that I've trawled through SC and see that some models trade for c.£2k - is that still the case today or have prices gone up significantly?

Good luck getting hold of one, there is a 1 year waiting list new and they rarely come up for sale used. The 99.1 cost approx €3700 direct from Dornblüth.

I didn't think I'd like that combo but I do - great thinking!

    P.S. I originally thought I'd missed a Dornbluth evening at Berwick-upon-Tweed...
