Not sure about Spaceman, but here is a picture of the Space Traveller.

    yes

Space traveller watch sold by Sotherbys yesterday
    http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...4/lot.121.html

    £3.2M

Bit like art, once you are dead your output seems to be worth so much more. I think the last one sold for just over £1M after Georges death.

For me, the best watch Mr Daniels ever did, now way out of reach for mortals (maybe that's why it's the Space traveller?)

    Cheers

I’ve always admired his work, pretty much the pinnacle of modern watchmaking. That’s a fantastic piece.

I was sent the information to this auction. Someone at Sotheby's thinks I have a little more money than I do!

For those who are not aware or simply haven't seen it, buy or download (iTunes and I'm sure elsewhere): The Watchmaker's Apprentice. It details George Daniels' life and his relationship with and mentoring of Roger Smith. Brilliant.

    He was a lovely guy.
    God rest him.
I went to his BHI Lectures and he helped my case making a lot. Even gave me his phone number !

Wow, that's quite something to be able to drop into a conversation! I saw him at the Sotheby's exhibition, didn't manage get my brochure signed though :-)
