Reminds me of an extension lead I once saw in the Far East with a plug at both ends. I'm still not sure what purpose it was intended to serve.

The marketplace is full of dodgy electrical stuff, invariably made in China and with a CE mark. But cheaper than the properly made equivalent of course and lapped up by those who presumably don’t think or care about the consequences.

Great post, jools; I haven't laughed as much for ages. Some of the comments are priceless.

Of course, there is no reason to believe that the CE mark is genuine......

They have a similar mark for Chinese Export. You can buy rolls stickers of them!

All CE marks are genuine as you can self cert, the problem is the Chinese and the Indians just say their stuff is approved whereas we have to spend fortunes getting it approved as we are traceable. the only way to fix this would be to make selling fakes instantly imprisonable

Yes he knows his stuff. I do a bit of PAT testing now and again and have been known to direct sceptical adapter/USB charger owners to his videos when they need persuading that their equipment is potentially (geddit) deadly.

I've always wanted to crimp an RJ45 onto a 13 amp kettle lead and casually leave it in a box of cables near our Desktop support people. It would only be a matter of time...
