Return of the CWC RN Diver

I am obliged to Rocket Man (Jon) for taking good care of this one for the past 18 months and finally giving in to my numerous requests to have it back.

Complete with original packaging, papers and even the Eulit Peron I put it on when it was new.

    Nice to have it back.

I've always fancied one of these but owning a sword hand SMP always stops me doing it! Looks great though

Thankfully I don't need to raise funds for anything at the moment.

Very nice indeed, always like the shiny cases compared to the newer bead blasted models.

Sadly for me, despite these always looking great in photos, great in the hand, great on my bedside cabinet - they for some unfathomable reason just look stupid on my wrist. I've had two but can just never seem to get on with them.

    Quartz or auto's?

I like the relatively slim profile of the quartz - I suspect that the auto wouldn't wear as well on my wrist.

They do wear really well in a perlon. I'm in the process of having a sapphire crystal fitted to mine. I agree, much prefer the polished and brushed finish to bead blasted plus the tritium weathers nicely over time.

Very nice Ian, that's not the one that was floating around with your name on the original papers is it?

Thought you moved away from these for something smaller, although the Speedmaster was the same size.

If you get bored with it I will also go on the waiting list

I've been eyeing up these CWC's again after many years of ignoring them. I almost got the SBS version that they had on their pre-owned section but then I noticed Eddie is bringing the PRS-18 back and I missed it.

They were both quartz and I wore them on a single ply, cut down NATO. I fully accept that the fact I couldn't get on with them on the wrist is weird.

Yes Ken, my name on the invoice and warranty card.

Feels rather similar to the Speedmaster on the wrist to me.

It less a case of boredom more that of a finite amount of available watch funds!

Lovely, Ian. I do regret selling my t-dial enormously - they're such nice watches.

Me too. I had an original RN Diver issued to m in 1986, with the acrylic lumed bezel - I wish I'd kept/lost it now. I do occasionally have thoughts about selling my SMP for a CWC with some spare cash to go to something else, but the CWCs are getting so expensive now that there wouldn't be much spare cash left over - and I do rather like the polished edges of the SMP sword hands, the domed sapphire crystal, the date, quick-set hour hand (mine's the quartz 2264) and the option to wear to on a bracelet or rubber as well as a NATO...

Lovely Ian, just curious which version is true to the original, satin bead blasted or polished?
    Thanks.

Lovely Ian, though I have to say I somehow like them better in pictures then on my own wrist. Not sure why.

Yep, that looks like it belongs back on your wrist.

I would never have thought it.

I had heard that Kim Jong-Un has a fondness for expensive watches, I hadn't appreciated he was a member here!

Guess he's luminova man though, tritium being too important to waste on watches.

    So what's the dotard's username I wonder?
