Thread: Bluetooth earphones?

    Bluetooth earphones?

    Hi,

A late Christmas request from my son.

He's fed up working (art student) with his headphones in and connected to his phone and getting up forgetting about the phone only for it to fly off the table (no damage yet luckily as it's always been caught in time)

So maybe some wire free Bluetooth earphones may be the answer... the trouble is which ones?

Had a quick look on Amazon and I can pay £15 or £200 so any recommendations would be welcome.

He's not into running/gym so they don't have to be sporty versions, ideally I'd prefer something around £50 ish I guess as I'm sure they'll be taken to college if he likes them. Seen a few truely wire free versions but not sure if they are all still a bit new yet - Air pods would be good but a bit over budget (he's an iPhone user) so would rather get something good with the two earpieces connected if that's better than the complete wire free options at this price. Also the battery life is a lot better with these. Seen the SOL Republic Shadow recommended and these can be picked up for £60 - anybody used these or can recommend something similar?

He actually prefers the earpieces like the apple headphones that just rest in your ear - however all the wireless ones appear to be the completely in ear kind - are there any wireless ones a bit like that apple ones in shape?

    Thanks

    I bought some of these

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphones-...hones+wireless

For the money they’re excellent battery lasts around 6-7 hours sound quality is actually surprisingly good too, theres loads that are exactly the same but with different brands on so just pick the cheapest on the day. Without going much higher up in price I’m not sure there’s much better about, personally I use AirPods these days out and about and Sony mdrs at home aside from the convience aspect of AirPods (good enough to convert me) sound wise they’re no better than those ankers imo but the ankers are a rubber tip type thing which aside from AirPods I think most are.

    Bluetooth earphones?

I have some Bose Soundsport Bluetooth earphones and use then several times per week.

    They are superb. !!

Great sound. Long battery life too.

The small carry case with integral charging lead is a neat addition.

He could try the adapter route for £13, and use his own headphones.

Some conflicting reviews, but I have one and it works perfectly.

Other than that, as he is an iPhone user, it's hard to look away from the air pods. I have had my share of headphones including the great noise cancelling Bose Q35s, but Apple really nailed it with the AirPods,.
There are better sounding headphones, and yes they are expensive, but for sheer convenience they are brilliant, and work great for handsfree calling too.

Amazing how convenient they are isn’t it I really didn’t understand all the fuss until I owned a pair

Take a look at the Mpow range on Amazon. You can get a pair for less than £20. I use them for running and the gym and they just don't fall out which can't be said for others I've tried. Sound is good and the controls are in the right ear piece so easy to access. Hands free calling is easy also.

I use these and I find them very comfortable, I find most in ear headphones quite painful and they are very secure

they connect to my phone from anywhere in the house and even outside, which is good when your phone is on charge or out washing the car etc, a friend has some cheaper ones that are constantly losing connection

    They sound good too

Look at RHA. They're British, have great sound quality and you can buy them in Apple stores. If you search you can usually find a discount code too.

Another option is the Soundmagic E10BT which is the Bluetooth version of the highly regarded E10C.

These are recommended by Which Magazine for performing way above their price level.

Another vote for the Bose. Great value considering the sound quality and comfort from a reputable brand. Hold well when exercising too.

Don't think you can go wrong with these for a score last about 8hrs as well, only thing l don't like is they burn your ears in the sauna, other than that they are excellent.
