    Your top two Rolex watches

My top two Rolex watches are the 1830 Day-Date and white Zenith Dayton. A yellow gold on lemon dial Day-Date 1830 with black onyx stick markers and 5 minute markers. This watch is IMO Rolex, with its pan-pie dial and President bracelet. My next is a white dial Zenith Daytona. Nothing else touches this one IMO. The white red and black dial a modern Paul Newman. Forget the older Valjoux 72 in the older models, it comes with the Zenith El primo, the first automatic chronograph movement ever made and then re-worked to perfection by Rolex inside this star.
    So, what's your thoughts?

    Cheers,
    M

Very difficult to pick only 2 , so many different variations the vintage ones are classic and wear great but the advancement of bracelets and bezels makes it very difficult to choose , am sitting on the fence undecided too many nice ones out their to choose

My favourite of all time is the Seadweller. I think the SD 4000 is the most complete package they've ever done with its predecessor not far behind. I only include seadwellers without cyclops in this.
Next for me would be a tie between the nd sub - clean and symmetrical, with no Cyclops - and the Daytona, in any of its incarnations - its iconic, sought-after and - you guessed, no Cyclops...

Two very similar watches, but my 5513 sub and 1680 red sub. If I had to add a 3rd would be Daytona

Would have to be the DJ41 and the Explorer2 at the moment. But things change....

    I'll go with these...

Rolex Day-Date (36mm) in white gold; Rolex Tudor Prince Date Day "Jumbo" in SS

  10. #10
I can only contribute a top 1. It is genuinely the only Rolex I have ever liked.

I don't really have a top two as such, but most iconic for me are the Day-Date 18ct yellow gold on president and SS Submariner.

    Red face

Late 60's Double red Sea-dweller and late 50's 6538 'big crown'.

Modern Rolex - not so much. Maybe the SDc 4000?

Too many to choose from !
    Can I say any Two from the following ?;
S/S Steel Datejust, fluted bezel on a Jubilee.
    Any (pre SD50) Seadweller.
Any S/S Black Sub (apart from the LV).
    GMT (Pepsi and BLNR).
    '70's/'80's S/S Daytona.
Apologies for ignoring the OP's request for Two and being none specific with the exact models.

Those are my two favourite too. I'd go for the red quarter's dial 1803 instead though.

    I know and I apologise.
It wasn't a dig at anyone in particular and certainly not Rolex but rather a knee jerk and silly attempt at humour based on the recent nastiness surrounding Rolex threads.

On a positive note, that two tone Yachty looks nicer each time I see it

    easy:

Black steel Daytona 116520 and 16600 Sea Dweller

The Sea Dweller I unfortunately sold few years back and miss it ever since. A Daytona I always wanted, but somehow nerver got around bunying one. Recently I got ond from a very nice member here. Since it is the most worn watch of my rather big collection. Now I just really need to get back the Sea Dweller at some point.

    GMT Master II 116710
    Stainless Daytona 116520 (black dial)

Sold the GMT for a Hulk (RRP) - didn't bond with the Hulk and now wouldn't mind another GMT although silly money.

    These two are my favourites.

But, there's a 16660 floating about on this forum somewhere that has a stardust tropical dial. (Knackered! Done for! Terrible!) and that's my top Rolex. I'd love to get my hands on it.

Yes a 5517 would be nice but I'll make do with its little brother the 5513.
In fact, I'll settle for the 60 minute insert, then I'll be happy.

    Wow.

I've currently got the BLNR and the 11620 in white. Do want to switch out the BLNR for a pepsi though after seeing that.
