    Berlin GTG. Saturday 7th October

There are three of us in Berlin regularly enough to count ourselves as residents, we have a couple of members within travelling distance and I know we have a number of willing (and in some cases, frequent) tourists. In light of this I would like to organise a GTG at a venue to be confirmed and I'll do my utmost to make sure that we pick somewhere near enough to a main railway station to suit our country cousins. My initial thoughts are a Saturday towards the end of September or early October but, at the moment that's extremely flexible.

    Any thoughts welcome.

For anyone thinking about going to Berlin, Tuesday 3rd October is German national holiday (Day of German Unity).

Went to Berlin for our family holiday last year. It was really interesting, clean and tidy and the food and drink very reasonable for a European capital city. Highly recommended

Suppose you haven't been to the 'Hecht' with Carlton-Browne then?

You should have been in there 15 years ago.

I spent half of my youth in the Lindenhof in Bitburg - there is absolutely nothing which can shock me after that.

The dates aren't ideal for me I'm afraid but early December or Sylvester I will be back in town. If you get any closer to a firm date I will look and see what I can change or arrange to get across though.

OK - I think we're looking at Saturday 7th October. I'll do some thinking about venues and keep bumping the thread. Hopefully it won't be the last one so we can always aim for Wayne's next sojourn in Berlin in December.

Flights too expensive from Southampton and can't be bothered looking elsewhere, I was just being optimistic. I'd love to nip over but can't!

Let's give this one another bump. It's looking like a 12 noon start to accommodate somebody who has to pick up his mother-in-law at the airport; I'll confirm the venue by PM. It's such a shame that the Beate Uhse Museum is now shut...

Just to give this a bump in case me have any tourists in town.

I've just sent out a missive to the anticipated attendees.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

I managed to find one with the socks but I didn't take one with the entire shotgun case in it.

Gosh, that Zeitwerk is a gorgeous thing — (even if using clockwork to “change the date” every minute seems a little daft to my engineering sensibilities).

Rolex Oysterquartz (17000) stainless steel beater; Cartier Santos quartz in steel/gold for dress wear; Audemars Piguet Huitième chronograph in yellow gold; Glashütte Original Senator Excellence (classic dial) in steel; Glashütte Original Panoreserve (blue dial) in steel.
    Need more . . . .

I suppose that's the problem when you let the riff-raff in from other fora.

Welcome to the forum, David. I don't think we've had many members who attended a GTG prior to their first post.

I've never been invited to one after my first post, so for me it's the only way in ;-)

Some nice watches there but I feel everyone is missing the real issue here. Beer, and the apparent lack of it!

I promised C-B that I would be toasting you with a Pisco Sour from Peru, and here it is. I was with you in spirit at least.

It turns out that there are some rather good local beers available as well. Cheers!

Don’t worry Village! The coffee was just to
line our stomachs before the Pilsners and Wheat beers came out!
