ps - sorry for the double posting. I wasn't sure if this went better under BMW or Time Factor Watches.

At university (over 35 yrs ago) I managed to pick up a "cheap" (i was on a grant and think I paid about £20) for an old Omega Army issue watch. At the time I had no real idea what I had and wore it as a daily beater for ~10yrs (during which it took some harsh treatment).
Over the last few years i discovered what I had (a Omega 53) and now can't bring myself to wear it.
I then discovered Eddie's Precista 53. I hope you like the side by side photos

That's a nice pair you've got there! Two great finds as even the PRS53 is difficult to locate these days.
:) Great find that Omega. I am still waiting to find a nice piece like that.
So far, my best find was a BAPE limited edition G-Shock I bought for $70.
A very handsome pair, gutted when Eddie stopped making the 53.
I bought an Omega '53 in the late 70's for £29 and had no idea what it was other than I liked it and was an Omega. I stupidly sold it some years ago to a collector for £800. He has 6 of them now. Wasn't a bad return on my investment but worth a considerable amount more now.
Is there a possibility for the Precista to increase in value?
In my opinion...
The price may increase a little if enough people are willing to search for one but they have been out of production for a while now, so I would presume most people that want one have one. It's a homage of an issued watch made by another manufacturer as such the target audience is quite small.
The same is true re supply and demand for all watches including the issued 6B watches but the there are a lot more people wanting to track down a good example of an issued watch, hence the price rises we have seen for issued watches over that last 5/6 years.
A few years ago you could buy a fat arrow dial for less than £1000 and a Hamilton 6B for less than £300. Try getting one for anywhere near these prices now.
In short there may be a price increase as people realise what great watches they are but the increase will be no where near What an issued watch will realise.
I bought the PRS53 for my wife. She hardly uses at all, maybe I should use it myself.
I have just ordered another of these straps for my 53.
Though cheap they seem perfecty good quality.
I allready have this olive green shade so have ordered a black 18mm

And for my 29b I thought I would try this shade of Khaki green

I dont think darker greens work as well nor do the shiny shades so I give them a good machine wash.
I also found this one while searching for RAF style straps it looks quite authentic to me.
Has anyone tried it yet?
