PSA - Omega discount (Northampton): October update: more models added

1st October update: I've not been past the window again but have noticed online that some discounts have been increased and more models added. See post #10

Hopefully this is the correct room to post this...

I'm not at all au fait with the current Omega range or pricing, but at first glance this seems a pretty good discount. I'm not sure, these might be ex-display models. If anyone's interested these are at Michael Jones Jewellers in Northampton.

    Cheers,
    Gary

I could be wrong; I don't remember the AT ever being £4k? Sure £3k+, never £4k.

I know the Basel 2017 ones are priced at £4k, not sure about the current/old models. Hopefully this is them making room for the new models coming in!

I found a Tag i liked at a good price, so thanks very much for the heads up..

However it arrived with noticeable scratches on the bezel and sides of the watch case....
But having spoken to someone helpful the issue is fully resolved.

All that said, great heads up...

Might be worth heading into Bandit country for. Just joshing, gary 1064...

Do you know the circumstances behind this - dealership loss or somesuch?

Is it just Omega that are being discounted?

No, they've not lost the Omega dealership. They had a huge Omega sale a couple of months ago to make way for the new 2017 models (as alluded to above) and I think this is just the tail end of that. I only had a quick glance, I think there may have been some discounted TAGs as well.

If anyone is interested the Speedy Mk2 has been reduced further, and more watches have been added to the sale. For example…

By the way, I have no connection to these guys. Hopefully this heads up might be of help to someone.

Good prices. I wonder how many of each they have. If some people have bought online they could find the stock doesn’t update and they won’t have enough Watches lol

The news that one can "pop" from Essex to Northants makes me wonder if I ought not be quite so proud of myself for making it as far as Zone Six

Speedmaster Mark II - Rio Limited Edition is still available. £2550.

I dare say I like it as much as the normal Mark II, maybe even more as it's considerably more unique.

^^^^ looks a great price too if somebody wants one. There's a Longines Heritage Chrono down by 30% too, it's a watch I hankered after for a while until accepting 43mm is just too big for me. The cushion case is lovely though...
    @OP - great heads up

Just had another phone call from them and apparently they can't find either watch, so it looks like they may have to cancel the order.

Thanks for this - Omega Seamaster 300 Master Coaxial now ordered. Good price; been tempted for some time and this was the final kicker!

Just to round the above comment off, the watch has now arrived: perfect condition, all papers etc as expected. Another happy customer who would certainly be happy to buy there again!

That's also great, it's nice to get feedback on "PSAs", and that some members have benefited from them.

They do have a good reputation. Bought a few things from them over the years including my first Omega in 1985.

The Monaco is tempting but I probably should stick to wanting the Calibre 11, funny how a deal can make you reconsider.

They have stores in both Northampton and Banbury, hopefully they'll look in both. As it happens I'm in Banbury today, if I get a chance I'll drop in and see if anything can be done.

Well that's confirmed. They've cancelled my order as they don't have the watches.

They can't get any more apparently because they say they are discontinued.

They did offer me the Rio version, but I don't like that one

I popped into the Banbury shop this afternoon and spoke to the Manager. There's good and bad news. There were two in stock, but one was sold in-store and one online, both on Saturday. The website is quite new and they're still having teething problems with it, particularly with regard to stock control. I'm not 100% sure that this model is discontinued though, that could be some confusion at their end. The shop doesn't have any stock remaining, but there are a couple of units at Omega UK (he phoned while I was in the shop). If you still want one he'll honour the website price as he recognises they've not done a great job here, and they'd like to recover some reputation. But go direct to him (I can PM you the details) rather than try the online shop. If you still want one I'd say it's a great deal.

I wonder if he could get both of the remaining stock at that price?
I added the relisted one into my basket this morning, then the site seemed to go offline and when it came back up again, it was gone.........

    Ok....so a little update.

Thanks to @gary1064 and the Banbury store manager Mark Conway, I will now be getting a Mark II direct from Omega. Gary took time out of his day to go in and explain the situation and started the whole ball rolling. Top man!

Mark has matched the online price for me, and I've also ended up buying a Rose gold/steel Constellation off him as a Christmas present for the wife.

Couldn't recommend the service I received from Mark highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble, and as a result, even though they are about 200 miles away from me, I will definitely be buying from them again.

Very noisy around here, what with all this popping and cracking.

Good to hear the shop sorted this out. All is, as they say, well that ends well. Enjoy your new acquisition and of course, the brownie points from the Wife.

That's great news. As the OP I felt a bit bad when it all started to go pear shaped, but looks like there's a happy ending after all. Good job my wife doesn't look at this forum, she wouldn't want a watch but might conclude her usual orange and a bag of nuts to be a bit inadequate!
