Certainly both rare and these days very valuable. Get yourself over to MWR forum, they have a sub forum dedicated to vintage Smiths and some very knowledgeable folk (RevO especially).

I can't help really but I'd very much like to see a couple of pictures if possible.
Pictures would be very useful.
Can I email or down load photos
If you have them on any kind of picture hosting site then just post a link here and one of us can make sure they get displayed.
If they are only on your computer hard drive and you don't fancy trying to load them onto e.g. Imgur or Flickr, and if you aren't using Tapatalk, then PM me and I'll let you have my email so we can sort out posting them up.
My email address is Tony.botcherby@btinternet.com

The simplest route to load images is by postimage.org . You simply load up the image from your phone then take the copy hotline for forum and then paste it in your post.
Tony started a new thread here and I have added the pictures to that one for him:

Just to add I wouldn't have thought immensely valuable but quite rare and probably a lovely piece. Never mix pleasure of a beautiful watch with concerns over how valuable it is in imho.
As you may guess the scale of vintage diver prices is roughly
Obscure branded / rebranded
Watches such as the Zodiac Seawolf / Smiths etc.
Longine / Record / Wittnauer
Zenith / Eterna's
Omega's / IWC's
Rolex Subs
Rare JLC's
Blancpains
Military Omega
Rolex Comex
Military Rolex
This is a very rough guide with my lovely Seawolf a snip at just £500 and a Military Rolex (Sob) I dont own heading towards £100k?!?
Others may totally disagree or have fun rearranging . I left out military issued Eternas that also go for heavy lumps.
