    Question for G-Shocker's

Just put the last of my automatic analogue watches on eBay. Sold two old Oris's, one Hamilton and gave my Nomos Club and a 9ct gold Tissot to my son. Just another Hamilton to go then I'll just have my G Shock 5610. Thinking about getting another square possibly with a reverse LCD screen. Any recommendations? <br />

I currently have a 5600 and have been tempted by this negative display offering with a nice red strap accent
    DW-5600HR-1ER

Beginning of Sept the 35th anniversary watches are released and there is a negative display GW-5000 (I know there is already a standard reverse display 5000, but this is a new release/special edition)

I've never get along with negative displays (G-shocks and others). Might be a nice look but IMO legibility is always poor.

Some negative displays are easier to read than others.
Not got on with most of them myself, but kept one which is fine.
I don't recall the model number, but it has a very useful vibrate alarm

    GD-350-1B, most likely?

Considering getting one of these, but with a positive display, at the moment.

I like the GD350, I bought my '-8' variant primarily as a travel watch. The illumination is excellent and I've very recently discovered that the vibration alarm does wake me up.

The inverted display version looks pretty legible.

GW-7900-1ER, same key functionalities as 5610 (solar/multiband 6) but in a different and rather attractive packaging. It wears very well too thanks to special wings fitted underneath the head.

Here's negative display version (GW-7900B-1ER) which is nice too.

I use the vibrate alarm when I am on Night shifts.
The alarm goes off at 0149.

Importantly it always wakes me up, but equally important, it doesn't wake her ladyship!

These wings (nothing to do with ladies products ) are also fitted to the GD-350.
Whichever model they are fitted to, they are very comfy. Particularly beneficial when you sleep with the watch on, to make full use of the vibrate alarm.

I always liked the gd-350, both the negative and -8 posted above, what's the battery life on that guy?

Never had to replace it. Had it a good 3 years.
Possibly depends on how much vibration you like!

That is nice. Particularly a fan of the red inside the strap - nice!

One use of the vibration alarm per day plus one use of the back-light per day gives a battery life of five years. Pretty good!

Really like this but can't find any for sale in the UK. There are a few on eBay but they all seem to be outside Europe so, import charges seem a bit too high.

I have this G-Shock and it's perfect for me as I live by the sea and know what state the tide is at, also the MultiBand6 is perfect for setting my autos as it updates to the atomic clock every night so is millisecond accurate..

Super comfy too with the wrist wings

It works very well on the combi too. The white changes from white to pinkish depending on the light. It's very readable more so than some other negative Gs.

This is mine. I've never had a problem with the negative display. The 'gold' display matches the bars quite well.

Love my beater summer watch GR-8900A. They can be a little hard to read sometimes but find there good in bright light and also a flick of the wrist and the back light comes on which I find very useful.
