This is the prototype and the crown/stem is just laid in position, it's not fitted.

I like that a lot Eddie, I fancied trying a CWC but that puts that plan on hold.

The case looks brushed as opposed to the bead blasted currently?

Looks really nice. Could end up being a rival for daily wearer with my Shogun. Who is certifying the movement?

New bezel insert? Certainly a change in font... are the numbers cut into it?

The 3/6/9 font looks a little lighter too.

Also - just notice the arrow shape of the second hand looks new as well?

My 18Q is the ultimate grab and go beater!!

If it uses an engraved insert, that would be a major improvement for me.

The case looks bead blasted to me. The case back clearly brushed/polished but this is a prototype.

Looking again I tend to agree, whatever I will probably get one as I do regret moving on my first one, although I would love a brushed version.

Excellent, really looking forward to this one. Up to now, I've regarded the PRS-10 as my everyday perfect watch.

Nice, it freshens up the design nicely.
Any chance of it on a bracelet?

That is definitely what I have been looking for. Can't wait for it to be in stock.
+1 on the bracelet if possible!

Looks great. I lile the brushed finish better then the bead blasted because its easier to freshen up. Hopefully it will have the same great lume, same dimensions and hopefully a date window.

This may be a stupid question,
but I'm sticking my neck out...

What movement(s) will be in the new COSC release?

    Previous specs were...
    PRS-18Q: Ronda 715Li quartz
    PRS-18A: Miyota 9015 automatic

    Thanks number2 !

    Wasn't familiar with that one...
I think my eyes were scanning for "Ronda" / "ETA" / "Miyota" ec.

Here's the specifications page for this ETA quartz movement.

    You're welcome,
Hopefully they won't be too expensive.

Wow, this is exciting! Such a classic. I've overlooked the 18Q until now, but this is at the top of my list now. Eddie, thanks for bringing it back!

i agree with the above comment;to my eyes the minute hand would look better touching the outer edge of the minute track (ie the same length as the seconds hand) Looking at my SMP 2264.50 these proportions work well.

Is it just the perspective on the photo?

They do seem a little short compared to other PRS-18Q.

Pictures of previous PRS-18 show the minute hand about half-way into the minute markers.

It's not perspective, the minute hand touches the beginning of the minute hash marker making the hand about 1mm shorter than the previous version.

And therefore perfect. To my eyes the minute hand on the older version was too long and this new design corrects that.

I have a 2014 Explorer, the hands are not short. ;)

Eddie, congratulations on the resurrection of the 18Q, those magic words "certified chronometer" will I'm certain ensure it will be an instant success.

Looks great, is there any confirmation on whether it's brushed or blasted finish.
    I'm hoping it's brushed.

Was hoping for the hands to be a mm or two longer but will still buy one. Any chance for a 2017 release?
