The Cockpit just the other side of St Paul's. A proper little pub, always good proper ale available.
Can anyone help with a good real ale or better still a pub that serves Doombar near Paternoster Square ?
I have a customer coming over from Germany who really enjoys his real ales so want to go somewhere he will like after meetings and before dinner so just a pint or two maybe.

There are some great pubs in that area. For good beer and interesting decor try the black friar or Viaduct tavern, both a 5 min walk
Old Red Cow, Hoop and Grapes and Phoenix are all in the Good Beer Guide and within half a mile of St Paul's tube station.
No idea if they sell Doom Bar - if they do, they shouldn't. A waste of a good hand pump.
If its a GOOD real ale bar, it almost certainly WONT sell Doombar.
As above, the Old Red Cow is a short walk and has rather nice beers.
Agree Craig, I think it went from being brewed in Cornwall to mass produced in the Midlands. I dont bother with it anymore.
Williamson's Tavern aka the Library bar, off Bow Lane (itself off Cheapside) used to sell Doom Bar, and has a bit of history (used to be the Lord Mayor's house)
I am sure there are others; no shortage of pubs in the area, but no really CAMRA type pubs; they have to cater to the local population... i.e. Financial Services.
Only a short walk up to Smithfield with several decent pubs including The Bishops Finger, which is a Shepherd Neame pub with excellent beer.
Jerusalem Tavern. It's a bit further away but it's where the real ale drinkers that I know go.
Rule of thumb. If it is sold in Tesco, it's not going to be real ale any more. Bath ales is no different. A small ale company, wins a contract, begins mass producing guff.
