Interesting about the thickness, or improved thinness. That's a definite plus. If only they offered an option of brushed centre links.

If I remember correctly, it's a tad more than 1 mm. From 13 something to 12 something.

I really like the new version especially the one with the orange second hand. I also like the date at 6 o'clock. It gives the watch a very symmetrical look.

Date at 6 is a huge improvement for me and I was never quite sure if I like the chunky date window surround on previous models.

I kind of like the garage door dial and prefer that to the vertical striped dials. All in all, massively improved and has me looking seriously at Aqua Terra's again. Would need to be on the bracelet though. That integrated strap, end link thing is odd.

Let's be honest they have just turned the dial 90 degress and supplied a new date wheel!

Not really, the crown guard is gone so the case shape is different, the crown has changed, the case is thinner and slightly narrower... it still looks like an AT but it's not just a new dial.

I'm increasingly won over by the new pictures, if it weren't for those bloody polished centre links.

Did you see the little devil smiley?

PS the older generation had a brushed bracelet as well!

Is the movement the same ?

How has the thickness been reduced - no sapphire case back ?

Just what I've always dreamed of, a watch that looks very similar to an Omega ;-)

No, new master chronometer movement, which is a bit thinner than the 8500

Also, it's the new, amagnetic, METAS certified 8800 movement.

Some models are 8800, some 8900, do you know which are in which? 8900 in the 41mms, 8800 in the 38mms?

Indeed. It looks like 8800 = quick-set date + one barrel while 8900 = longer reserve + two barrels.
