Saw MUS 1C on a Merc where we were staying in Devon a few years back. See it's still on a Merc. Must be worth a fair bit!
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Owned by James Perkins who founded Fantazia. Used to live near me at Aynhoe Park but sold up and bought Parnham House in Dorset.

On a similar note, if you pardon the pun, I have seen V1 NYL many years ago on a Lamborghini.

    In the Birmingham area?

I regularly used to see that too. Back in the day when Lamborghinis weren’t as common too.

Yes in Birmingham. I can’t remember what colour it was but likely orange or green.

Your sister didnt half look puzzled when my wife and I met her on “Charlies” car park and I said “ Are you Andrews sister” . We were in a similar colour MX5 so she probably thought we were going to talk cars! WTF. What a great plate for your sis ;)

Along that theme, A1 BUM sold in a DVLA auction a few weeks ago - think it went for around Ł8k. I suppose it could equally suit someone with a pert derierre

^ that one is brilliant and no need for dubious spacing. I’d love to know if it was expensive or slipped through the net & nobody spotted the potential.

That car and plate was in the supercar “ field” at Goodwood festival of speed this year. Next to it was THR1L on a carbon coloured Lambo . A yellow 911 displayed HE110 FU was just a few down. Of course Nick Masons 250 GTO plate always takes the cigar.

    Good one for a change!

Can’t understand why someone would want ‘lasagne’ on a nice car (unless they’re a chef I suppose…).

    Malcom’s or his son’s car?

Seems a little flashy for the Malcolm I knew back in the day when he was my boss, or rather boss’s boss’s boss. He was an utter gentleman and defended a lowly me when I got thrown under the bus by someone more senior in a board meeting.

That said, recall hearing in the early days he did have a Ferrari in north wales that he did store visits in! He still remains a legend for me from the way he treated us, his buying team, and the opportunities he gave us. I met him at a corporate event 15yrs after leaving & he was still as humble as before, his PR profile / persona is not the real him.

Everything you say there chimes with what I have heard about Malcolm. My lad had a Saturday job when he was 16 at the Nelson store in Lancashire. This was pre him selling out and buying back. My lad met him on one occasion and said he was a decent guy and pleasant with the staff.

At that time the business had really taken off and he must have had a large number of stores , so well done him for getting out to the sticks to see the customer facing team.

In the early days he had a Rolls outside his Deeside depot, thats what made me think when I saw the plate.

There are 2 people in my career I hold in such high regard, he is one of them. Despite having left many moons before, I was so happy when he came back to take the lead again. He made it feel like a family, despite the sheer scale of the business.

That must be the biggest No plate I’ve seen in a long time, was always asked to make them as small as possible.

I don't believe that is Malcolm's car, Malcolm's car has already featured in this thread earlier. Definitely not Malcolm's son either, way too flash a motor for him.

^^^Not really worth buying Ian as it's far from original, it was originally a fixed head coupe (excellent), unfortunately it had its roof hacked off in the 80's or 90's (boo).
