Other than Sagan losing the opportunity to better the green jersey record.
Now the dust has had time to settle, several analysis put together have now made clear what happened.
It all starts with Demarre going to the right, making it a squeeze for Sagan and Cavendish.
Cavendish now loses balance when hitting a drain in the gutter.
He involuntarily leans on Sagan with his head but is always going to fall.
Cavendish so out of balance that his right foot unclips.
While he is ALREADY irrecoverably falling towards the barrier, the lh brake lever of Cavendish now hooks up behinds Sagans forearm, forcing it thus the elbow out.
Cavendish hits the barrier.
A ´simple´ racing accident of which nobody has any blame.
Other than Sagan losing the opportunity to better the green jersey record.
'Hand of God' episode. Everyone is an expert a month after the event
Agreed, it was outrageous to DQ Sagan for that as he did nothing wrong
He was denied his defense at the time too so justice was not served. That was already clear at the time anyway.
@mrushton; the footage was available to the jury and politicians at the helm. It was obviously not fully analysed before taking a VERY serious decision. This SHOULD be critisized no matter how much later.
Imo the disqualification should be reversed because it will otherwise be unjustly recorded as history.
You can't keep going back, the decision was made the riders involved have moved on why can't everyone else.
However, in the spirit of the thread, I demand that Argentina are relegated in the 1986 World Cup, which obviously England would have won.
