I can't see many people wanting one. They'll probably be heavily discounted in six months. Wouldn't like to try and sell a used one in a year or two😦

They forgot to put PADI on the dial. That's the only thing that's stopping it from becoming a sales success.

I too have seen this at an AD display in Brent Cross (with no crowds around it).

"Right, just to introduce my two new marketing coordinators, Freddie and Jonno. They'll be helping us with our new launches."

"Hello everyone. We've been thinking about the shiny thing that goes around the watch. We're thinking colour - something vibrant. Freddie's daughter's neighbour's wife's tennis partner studied fine art and he thinks we should have some paisley designs. We liked that idea but instead we had lunch in Pret and brainstormed it instead! We're passionate about this round thing. Anyway, here's the design."

    *silence in the boardroom*

    *more silence*

    *Head of R&D*

"Are you talking about the bezel?"

"We don't want to get too technical as our customers just want something nice on their wrist when they're out shopping or having coffee. We couldn't get in touch with 007 but our sources tell us he likes it."

    *Head of Production*

"Who likes it? 007? The fictional character?"

"He's done loads for the government - I saw the documentary on Netflix."

"Great Freddie - good work. Let's keep passionate and get this company moving! Cheers everyone let's speak next month at the launch. Byeee."

Daniel Craig finally confirmed last night that he will be 007 once again!

On the chat show he suprisingly wore the Commander. I think you can even make out the blue sticker on the Nato tab.

Guess as part of his Omega ambassador duties he was made to promote it. I would like to think he has better taste :)

I didn't think it looked too bad in real life.

    Shhhh. Don't say that.
It won't endear you to people who think they are super funny/creative when poking fun at this watch or purveyors of good taste:-)

To be honest it's a very acquired taste. I saw one in Goldsmiths in Brent Cross and it's proper minging. And there isn't much interest in them. I bet if they really wanted to create buzz among WIS they would have reissued 2254.50 in limited numbers, it'd have sold out in minutes.

Perhaps I haven't been clear enough. Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong impression. This is a great watch.

If you want something that looks like it was dipped in glue and kicked through the Elizabeth Duke sales section.

It's probably a grower but the fact you can pick them up off the shelf makes the above retail sales seem optimistic .. I'm sure another couple of DC wearing them in public and they'll get snapped up though so maybe not as silly a purchase as it seems - will see if they're at the airport next time I'm passing

Not on same level as some sterlings take downs from the past by you and somewhat misdirected:-)
I have no love for or interest in this watch. But, I don't hate it.

Am not sure why I get so bothered by some of the criticism directed at it.

There will be a queue all the way back to Wagamama to return all the ones sold to the failed profiteering crowd.

Not my cup of tea at all, white just doesn't got with it in my view. Another really cheap alternative is the Rio one, 2k on eBay all day long

    Love your understatement, Raj.

The truth is you're right, it's not a bad watch. It's attracting criticism because Omega could do better.

It's a bit like a star pupil who used to get straight As is now smoking at the back of class, feet on desk, disrupting the others.

I might have extended that simile too far.

But you clearly are bothered since are often seen jumping to its defence and making sly suggestions that those who decry it are misguided sheeple jumping on a band wagon of negativity. Has it occurred to you that many really may just think it gopping and misjudged, without any influence from the herd? It comes with a fake medal ribbon for flips sake! If you honestly think it is great then I am happy for your independence of mind and ability to swim against the tide but I do wish you wouldnt sneer at those who think it tacky and nasty.

It looks decent at 10 feet or so :-) The colours make it stand out and not in a bad way imho. Also at that distance you can't see the 007 hand! However all that is very obvious when you are the one wearing it! Maybe that's a new category of watches? Ones that look good from more than 10 feet but hideous up close ;-D

Perhaps you could borrow the term we used to use for a certain look of lady; 'Like a Jimpy (GPMG).'

When this prompted the inevitable 'How so?' the reply made everything clear...'Excellent at distance, but messy up close.'

I've heard cars described as '30 footers'.

They look good from the other side of the road.

The second hand should go, along with that of the second hand on the Milgaus.
A standard red second hand would have looked excellent.
The red and blue bezel looks a bit garish but I suspect in real life might look much better.
The striped nato is too much imo. Either just plain blue nato or maybe it should have gone on a navy blue Isofrane.
The name commander is not too bad I suppose.
The medal ribbon is cheesy beyond belief . It sort of reminds me of a spy kit I'd buy my 4 year old son complete with plastic binoculars and a water pistol.
Drop the ribbon, give it a decent second hand and sort out the strap and you've got a reasonable watch.

I have never liked white dialed seamaster professional's! They always seem to look cheap somehow.
