I'm a big fan of Timbuk2, not sure if they do leather though.

Hi
Looking for recommendations for a good laptop bag.
Was thinking of a leather messenger type, not really into backpack type ones
Any suggestions?

Crumpler bags are nigh on bullet-proof. More casual than some, but I recommend them to anyone who asks.

Freitag.
I have a couple of Piquadro bags, really love them. Good quality:

Have had this for a couple of years, in tan colour:

Strongly recommended

This may not win style points, but if you want a heavy duty nylon laptop case that will take a pounding, then you can't go wrong with this one:

I do quite a lot of travelling and I've purchased loads of stuff from bags etc and the "it luggage" range of bags is great VFM. The store is currently doing 20% discount but occasionally has 40% store-wide discounts that come up (last one was a week or so ago).
Not leather, but i've had several Millican bags of various sizes. Indestructible, functional, and look good.

I've got a couple from osprey, lovely

I've also had a visconti which is pretty good.

(I got mine from eBay seller)
Tk maxx website also worth a look as they get a few in.
Tumi are the classic make to go for. I have two or three of their laptop bags and they are tough as old boots (though look nicer).
If you want something a bit different, and not in leather, then have a look at the Think Tank camera bags. I use one of their Artificial Intelligence V3.0 bags to carry my laptop and iPad around for shorter trips. The nice thing about them is that they are slim, so that typically the airline staff don't view them as a "proper" carry on bag.
I just picked up a Samsonite for £32 at the airport

Will do the trick for a while

Swissgear, outstanding quality and very well organised. You might find them at TKMAXX
Sorry, just seen your preferred choice... and it's not a backpack

Just some feedback regarding Swissgear/Wenger laptop backpacks. I've owned one for a couple of years and was initially impressed, it's cavernous and comfortable to carry multiple laptops and other kit. However several of us in the same office have noticed an issue. The models with shock absorbing stretchy shoulder straps, if you're in the habit of carrying the bag over one shoulder, after a year of use that shoulder strap elastic will stretch gradually. Such that if you wear the bag over both shoulders, it feels lop sided as the elastic on one side is worn out, making the back really weird to carry.
Great otherwise though, I'll keep mine for the odd occasion when I need to carry tons of gear.
If you want messenger style can't beat STM https://www.stmgoods.com.au/
Australian but have European distributors.
Got one of the below for work in 2013 and have used it every day. Looking for a similar replacement at some point as I have worn out the metal shoulder strap clips(!) and nearly the metal loops on the bag.
All the zips/clips still work and the leather is only slightly scuffed even now.

Was about £80-90 I think and some cheaper ones which are similar if you want a smaller one
