    Laying your watch down

Right we all put our watch down at some point, but, how does it look ?

I have to say my Patek even lay down does it in a graceful way.

    Laying your watch down

When I lay mine down I have trouble remembering which one I was wearing originally as they all look the same...

Funny, pointless yet intriguing thread. The appeal sums me up! Now I'm thinking which of my collection may have distinctive positions.....

I may have misunderstood too. Let me try again. I heard it's better to set the time to ten past ten for improved appeal:

It does seem more pleasing. Hopefully I'm getting the idea now.

Their eyes face screws up or their eyes glaze over, like they do with every watch related discussion?

But the core message "Look, I have a lot of dough" comes across just perfectly.

Nearly, you just need a few more £20 in the shot.

The Patek is under the bag.

During the very early 90s, I worked as a junior officer in the backoffice of a private bank here in Luxembourg. I was once called into a meeting with a new private banking client, he had a couple of travel bags filled with currency, mostly 20 and 50 pound notes but also Dollars and Deutschmarks, some of it loose and some bundled. I assisted counting the money, which was a few hours of work and we concluded afterwards that the guy had no idea how much money was in the bag before we counted it. It was fishy even by the standards back then, but since no money-laundering legislation or internal policies existed, we accepted the cash and opened the account. Unbelievable by today's standards, yet only 25 years ago.
