Pad isn't the right shape and strap isn't the right size, but apart from that I think it's a nice idea

Somewhat spookily I was considering something very similar earlier today.
I have a PRS 40 inbound and was considering how to mount it on a leather strap (other than a NATO).
I wasn't thinking of exactly this strap but something similar in design. In my idea the 22mm wide leather loops that would go around the fixed lugs on the PRS 40 would be attached to the backing strap using Chicago screws. This would effectively meaning that you could attach a watch with a different lug width just by swapping the leather loops for a different size.
Then by changing just the backing strap you could have different pad widths for different sized watches.
Make sense?
