    Canvas straps

When the sun's shining, I've always had a soft spot for Eddie's sand canvas straps on my DC67.

Now they're discontinued, can anyone recommend an alternative source of canvas straps of a similar colour and style? (No nylon NATOs please.)

I wouldn't go much further than Steveos para strap, have 3 of them and have yet to find anything as good

Got to agree, I have a couple of para straps which are so comfortable and look better with age.

Banda do a nice canvas strap in various colours although they are leather lined.
Hard to find these days and always found them a smudge too short for my 7.5" wrist.

Just remembered a guy on WuS called Drew which imo made the best looking canvas strap, always wanted one for my Precista 18.

We might have a winner. Thanks.

I like the look of his cases.

Why do 90% of strap makers design them for panerai watches? I mean they're obviously interchangeable but they put panerai buckles in them and they're usually thick material. Just an observation.

You might have a point. While they look to be good quality, 4mm thick is a bit much for most watches.

    And 90 euros? Yikes!

I'm always looking for canvas straps and they're few and far between. I got a couple of those P&C ones from a seller on eBay for £10 rather than £20. No P&C buckle but who needs one of those?

Heroic 18 make a nice canvas strap, also Aarron at Combat straps is worth a look. The Perlon straps some to be making a resurgence at the moment as well :-)

Where did you get it from? I keep looking at Weston Watch Straps for the HR Cordura but they never have them in grey.

Yep, came from Weston Watch Straps. Ordered on Monday afternoon, arrived this morning. Really impressed with it. I think I'll be ordering some more colours.

I'm been wearing an olive Hadley Roma on my DC56 Si for the past couple of weeks and it's been great so far.

Good spot. I've just bought a green one but it will be a few days before I'm able to try it on and report back.

    I've got one of these

Really like it - grey one is perfect on my LLD. Seems hardwearing and very comfortable

Looks good and really are good value at £12

    Canvas straps

I recently got a couple of the Cordura straps from WatchGecko and think they are good for the price. Would be better with a bit more padding, but I guess that's why they are only £12/£14.

Black with grey stitching on my Pelagos.

    Green on Submariner.

The ones from P&C are very soft and I have tried mine on a Submariner.

This from Bulang and Sons is also worth a try.

  34. #34
Top one looks nice. Any more pics? I'll probably try one of them, too. Comparing them on the website they sound nigh on identical to the one I posted above apart from the backing and possibly cordura content?

Edit - just realised it's the diver version rather then the 'crusader' type. As you were.

Here is the WatchGeko Nylon Sport B2 Leather Lined, black with grey stitch (https://www.watchgecko.com/nylon-spo...ther-lined.php)

I also tried a Morellato nylon (bought here - http://stores.ebay.com/trendart24/)

Nice colour but I didn't realise it had a white leather backing which is not my cup of tea so I experimented with restitching it in orange.

It also tapers from 22mm to 18mm which I didn't like. The Hadley Roma and WatchGeko straps taper to 20mm.

Overall I prefer the Hadley Roma Cordura fabric as it seems closer to a canvas fabric with less sheen. I'd say it resists wear marginally better than the Watch Geko strap but there's not much in it. The Watch Geko straps can be had with a contrast stitch which I like so I'll try their Cordura strap at some point.

If Weston Watch Straps don't have the colour/size you want in the Hadley Roma Cordura I've found them very helpful over email advising on stock.

Excellent range of colours, and straps without leather backing. Just ordered a sand coloured piece. Thanks for the link.

Great selection just a pity there's no English option, unless I'm missing something.

I spotted this strap in a WUS post and like the look of this one as it doesnt look to shiny and just a tad “worn”. Hope someone knows which one it is or which Straps comes closest to this material?

Had to google that (I’m Dutch) but fortunately nothing NSFW popped up :-). You are right, a bit faded and rougher compared to some of the shiny canvas straps.
