Dreadnought PRS-2 re-visited by Dr. Peter McClean Millar

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

    Nicely done.

Is the author the chap that was an (US) Army medic that posted a fair bit on here (and whose user-name escapes me!)?

...and didn't he get one of two PRS20LEs with PVD'd movements?

No, that was Nalu, Colin Miller... You could call him a medic I guess, Orthopaedic Surgeon might be more accurate;-)
I'm still in touch with Colin, he's enjoying retirement.

( not sure about the PVD movements )

You're thinking of Colin Miller "Nalu".

It certainly is a lovely watch, so glad I have one!

If you ask any dive watch collector what the classic dive watches are, invariably they will trot out the Rolex Seadweller and Submariner, the Omega Seamaster, the Doxa SUB 300T and the Breitling Superocean among others. The savvy collector will add the PRS-2 Dreadnought. It is a watch that was produced in 2003 and achieved cult status. Because only 200 were made and they don’t come up for sale often, it may have slipped under the radar of younger dive watch aficionados.
'Classic dive watch' it may be, but was it certified as a diver, eh? If not, then what on earth was I doing using it for diving???

    Probably the deepest dived PRS-2:

Please pass on my regards to Colin, we had a number of conversations off-forum and I narrowly missed meeting up with him a few years ago.

I think he was "Flying Doctor" or similar on here.

The review has made me look longingly at the GMT and wish my wrists could pull it off. Any views on how it works on sub 7 inch wrists?

My wrist is about 7" and mine wears fine, it depends on your wrist shape rather than the actual size. Saying that the bracelet came straight off as soon as I unpacked the watch, it's far too heavy for my taste. I wore it for a long while on leather or the supplied rubber but I've had it on one of Eddie's Natos for a while now after one of the strap bars worked loose and I loctited the threads. The Nato has the "extra bit" removed and I find the watch sits lower and is more comfy. I wish Eddie did the Coyote Brown Nato in 22mm. Where "up north" are you? You're welcome to try mine if you're anywhere near me.
