I would also recommend a book called 'Iron Coffins' by Herbert Werner - its his memoirs of the war from early enlistment as a cadet through to captaining his own U Boat. He makes specific mention of the 'Elektra boats' towards the end. Its a great read. I find the final chapters that cover the end of the war and events just after particularly fascinating.
