A real alternative to a Tesla when it arrives?

I hope so, if you see the people in their Leadership team it looks promising. It's about time Tesla had some true rivalry.

    Wow.

    Small-Batch Exclusivity

Launch Edition cars will be the first 255 cars off of the production line. These cars will be very well optioned as standard and will be priced over $100,000.
    Key Features

    • 315-mile range
    • 1,000 horsepower
    • Autonomous driving hardware
    • 21-inch Lucid-design wheels
    • Upgraded audio system

Let's just pause a moment and note the range and power...

I agree, Tesla have done an incredible job in making the technology work, now some real competition is needed. And to give Tesla their due, they always said they wanted this and have shared much of their technology.
So clever my foot fell off.

I really like the idea of electric cars and anything that pushes ICE vehicles off the road is a good thing IMO. Yes there are infrastructure and generation issues but the modern world is pushed by demand, that's capitalism, if you buy it, they'll build it and make a profit. We just have to buy stuff that improves the future and this makes that decision a but easier now.

I'm sceptical about the 1000 bhp power output. Tesla claims a P85D in ludicrous mode gives 762 bhp but they are more like 400 when you test them on a dyno.

I wonder I they calculate like pmpo rather than rms in speakers?

Dont know what the BHP is but there is a video on YouTube of one hitting 217 MPH, so they can clearly shift.

Interesting to see if Tesla will let them use their fast chargers at the service stops.

Long term, lets hope that charging stations will become universal somehow, so that they are not manufacturer tied, even if the Tesla lead is paid for somehow by other sources.
