    The Purse and Handbag Forums

I had a scary moment of self awareness, was looking for a handbag for my wife when I stumbled on these forums

    https://forum.purseblog.com/forums/handbags-purses.3/

I was able to see the slightly cringe like nature of wrist shots after seeing subforums with sticky threads of all the designer bags titled like this "Photos of your Chanels in action" along with hundreds of pages of ladies clutching their handbags in various poses, pictures of handbags at lunch, dinner, on boats, with their dogs....................:D

It is rather fun to have a look through the "In action" threads of the different brands, our insanity about watches is there and more in handbags and purses, It is a funny thing really taking pictures of your possessions in various settings!

Oh yea, it's scary the similarities to watch forums :-) for instance a popular topic of conversation is about how a bag has been with them through life's journey, at a birthday, holiday, wedding etc :-) I wonder if they consider passing on the bag to the next generation? And use that as an excuse for the high cost

Wondering why people with no interest in watches are on a watch forum?

If so, DO NOT GO IN THERE!

Gave my daughter some money to buy a watch or something.
She's using it to buy a Chanel (I think) bag - for £4000!
    What?
Is Chanel the equivalent of Rolex?
Will it be an investment for her future?
Can't see it being as useful or as much fun as a watch.
Still, her mileage clearly varies to mine.

Over in these parts, we always hear the question, "Does it make your heart sing?"
That's the line I'll be using whenever a 'Should I buy this watch?' thread pops up from now on

Cripes. Some bags hold their value very well. I'm no expert except that my wife has sold a few on eBay etc, though none which cost close to £4,000 to begin with. Prices on Vestiare Collective even for 2nd hand are quite strong for some models.

Some bags do have waiting lists or are by invitation, so it may be the equivalent of a ceramic Daytona/ Nautilus!

It's just women buying expensive things, not at all like horology.

I have my watches and the wife has her handbags, she doesn't understand mine and I don't understand hers so levels itself out I guess.
