Any idea what this is on my Grand Seiko?

Buyers choice. He did say he might wear the watch for a while and then get an Independent to look at it. In truth, Seiko wouldn't have told us a thing. Just changed the dial , taken the money and stayed silent. An independent would be......independent. I would like to know too .

It's wasabi.

Possibly. I had heard Seiko use a mixture of soy sauce and wasabi instead of oils in the spring drive movement.

I'd have bought that if I'd spotted it on SC. I have a self-imposed watch embargo while I'm buying a house, but I'd had broken that rule.

I sometimes have a look on eBay for a GS that might make a project - some of them just have a lot of light surfaces marks on the bracelet and would come up good.
