These sort of marks come up from time to time without a definitive answer, could be a reference number for a dive kit hire shop or school for example.
Great looking example, can I have first dibs if you move it on?
Good morning everyone. :D
Just purchased this rather nice 7C43-7010 from France, but I'm a little curious of the "B1208" stamp on the caseback.. Any ideas what this could be reference to please?
Your thoughts, help and input would be greatly appreciated. ;)

I've also read it's a Seiko battery change date.
Which if correct would indicate August 2012 battery change at Seiko from the website I read.
Thanks for the info James, much appreciated, that could also be correct.. The gentlemen I purchased it from stated that the last battery change was performed by Seiko Japan in 2007.
The watch hasn't been used since, so I'll be contacting Canoop shortly and hopefully get it booked in for a battery change and re-seal soon. :D

Be interested to see what Duncan finds on the inside of the case back that might confirm any theory with additional watchmakers marks. It looks like a lovely example that's for sure...

Lovely watch. Re strap, got to be black rubber!
After looking at all those lovely images, I've settled for a flat vent. :)

Thanks Jason and Mariod.
Really looking forward to it's arrival, (Hopefully in the next few days.) then it's straight off for a new battery and re-seal. ;)

I've often returned to this blog with regards to the Seiko quartz dive watch references... Some great descriptions and pictures.

*Update*
Well, the watch arrived from France Friday morning and was dead on arrival.. (I knew this as the seller stated the battery needed changing.) So I sent it straight off Friday afternoon to our very own Seiko genius Duncan (The Watch Bloke.) for a battery change and pressure test.
Duncan confirmed safe delivery Saturday afternoon and booked it in.
Received a message Sunday morning that the watch has had the battery replaced and it had passed a 10 bar pressure test. :D
Ducan also sent me a couple of before and after image's which I really appreciated, he also congratulated me as the watch was in cracking condition! :D (Always nice to hear.) -
The watch was posted back yesterday and I've just received it -
Extremely happy and it's now securely strapped to my wrist. :D
Duncan is a super hero and Seiko master! :D

Looks great. Well done!
I must update on the strap.. Been wearing it for coming upto 10 hours... It's very uncomfortable! :(
Not going to boil it though, i will just wait and see if it improves over time.

Can boiling help ?
Yes, the Bonetto straps are much softer.
However, I'd also recommend boiling the strap. I've had a couple of these and without the boiling trick they aren't very nice to wear. Why don't you want to?
Are you actually boiling it or fitting it in a mug of hot water?
I boiled water in the kettle, then shortly after poured it over the strap in a mug. Left it there for a while.
I didn't notice any change in texture, just the curve that the boiling 'fixed' in the strap.
