    Which breitling for me?

Miss having a breitling and id like to add one to my collection,

at the moment i have - sub lvc, iwc spitfire ardoise, pam 510 and an IWC portuguese chrono.

Breitlings i have owned in the past incl Blackbird big date, Avenger skyland, Navi 01 and Steelfish XL.

Whats available for around £3k? pre owned.

Thinking of a regular seawolf, anything else im forgetting about.

    How about an Ana-Digi?

I prefer the chunkier B1 or Airwolf and they can be had for comfortably under 3K.

Edit: You can even get a B50 for around 3.5K, I believe Mark Worthington have one at the moment.

Superocean Heritage. Should be well within budget new if you're willing to go the grey route

I like these also, but after trying one on last weekend I hate the bracelet and gap at the lugs.

I wouldn't sink anything into a new quartz movement (a la Aerospace) as the service/repair costs can be staggering.

    Superocean would be my choice.

I have a seawolf and it's hardly been off my wrist since aquiring it about two months ago. Got it for well below 2k too with b&p. A few scuffs but an absolute beauty. IMG_1623.JPG

Like yourself, I had owned a Blackbird before, a few years ago.
I am so glad that I have bought another - even stumped up for a full Breitling service!

    Perfect opportunity to ask;

The SR-71 Blackbird was famous for being built from Titanium. Breitling have several models also made from Titanium (Aerospace, Chrono-Avenger etc)

But the Breitling Blackbird is made from................. Stainless Steel!

    Anyone??

    Which breitling for me?

As a very happy current owner, I'd suggest you go with your instincts and buy a Seawolf.

Just make sure it's the Arabic dial rather than the batons...

When I think Breitling I think chrono. Is that what you're after? Otherwise they do some nice day-date models if it's a classic 3 hander you're after.

    Hello

I do love a Seawolf but the Steelfish is pretty good as well and a lot more wearable under a shirt cuff.

I was also thinking Blackbird because it looks "Breitling" but is a little thinner than most, has a rounded case and the big date is lovely.

I also had one, once upon a time, and it was just fabulous - seeing Andrew's above have brought back a momentary pang of regret!

I am a little biased, and think that it looks superb
There was a time when I would happily trade any watch in my collection to anyone who enquired, but recently I have bought some solid keepers. The Blackbird sits on the list of 3 going nowhere.

    With 3k I'd probably buy 2
    Aerospace
    Early superocean

Didn't you own both the brushed and polished version of the big date at one point?

I would absolutely consider the superocean, I recently tried the orange and black and fell in love with it. The fact that you could go for 46mm as well as 38 will give you choice.m

Here it is on my Montbrillant, it is actually a Citizen strap that was supplied with the other watch below.
