    New Omega James Bond Seamaster

This is just released on the Omega site. Love the look and the see through caseback with the bullet centre.

You seem to be in a minority if the other thread is anything to go by!

not a fan of that...limited to 7007? I'd be quite surprised if this ever got sold out!

Can I ask a serious question, why does the 007 branding appeal to you? I personally dont like it but I would like to know from someone who does what the appeal is?

It's not as bad as the one with the 007 second hand on the other thread. But with that dial it does seem to be a triumph of marketing over design.

I like the overall look of the watch. The 007 franchising doesn't bother me much either way.

I quite like that as well, probably the best 007 one I've seen. Not bothered one way or the other about the dial branding, you'd have to look pretty close to see it in real life presumably.
Only thing I don't like is the diamond at 7, but that's only in the smaller version.

'A timepiece fit for a spy.'

Whoever wrote that really does need to understand what they're doing to Omega's brand.

It's the kind of thing written on cereal packets to attract children to send off tokens for shoes with a compass in the heel.

    Already being discussed,

    http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...tch-from-Omega

or is this the thread for those positive towards it?

Minus the tacky branding it could have worked but that second hand...

Different watch, I actually prefer this to the Commander's edition.

So it is. Is this even new though? What is the 50th anniversary from, Dr No was released in 1962 so is this not an existing Bond LE? Presumably from 2012? Note the past tense used throughout, this has been out for 5 years lol.

OMG! I´ve been looking at a Seamaster without the diving bezel and was quite keen. Looking at both these models has put me right off the brand. I find this one horrible and the other hideous!

I actually don't mind this one at all. It's not very limited edition at over 7,000 pieces though!

Click on the link and you'll see it's a different watch, much nicer IMHO especially the caseback design but would still much prefer it without 007 all over the dial.

Indeed, it's ideally suited for those who wear Crocs in public. :)

Caseback pic seems to suggest 11,007 pieces.

    Uhuh

Read back a couple of posts. It is much nicer but the one in the OP's link was released in 2012 so is hardly new now is it?

The one the OP links to is a 2012 LE of 11007 pieces.

I loved these as a boy. I would probably have loved the Bond Omega then too. I was 9.

Did I use the word new, just pointed out it's a different watch not the White commanders edition which looks pretty awful.

Omega, please stop now. You have had a good run with James Bond, but this is flogging a dead horse.

Fair point but did you also notice that Morrissey had already pointed out to me that this was not the same watch as the Commander a few posts back and it was acknowledged? If so why point it out afresh?
