Where are steinhart going?
It feels like ages since we last had one of these, and I am quite missing the arguing, moaning and debate :)
About this time last year, 5 months of speculation, arguments, predictions started leading up to a most unlikely price increase on 1st November.
8 months on, the government is in turmoil, but the pound is not suffering much further (yet)
There was a price increase in Europe and then UK which means we are still the cheapest place to buy Rolex.
So, what's everyone's predictions?
What have you heard down the pub?
What has your reliable Rolex insider told you?
What line is your local AD spinning in order to get you to buy that Datejust?
Will there be another increase this year? Just in UK or also in EU?
Will it be before the new Skydweller hits the market?
Personally, I think because we are still out of step, then there is a good chance there will be an increase before the year is out, but that they are monitoring the situation and currency and I think it will take them a few months to react if it goes further south.
Where are steinhart going?
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
A more suitable question is what will come first...
Another Rolex price increase or
Another Omega (Not so) Limited Edition.
I predict that in two years time people will look back and say those guys with foresight were correct, there have been increases since the thread started.
I have not heard a whisper of a UK increase, see no reason for a UK increase and do not anticipate a UK increase until some of the key factors change.
That a lot of eccentric keyboard warriors* can't get hold of certain steel rarities on demand will have absolutely no bearing on the matter.
H, out.
* quorum ego sum.

It's diversion tactics Haywood, to get people away from the Speedmaster threads.
If they don't hurry up and increase the prices Tag will have caught up.
I think the next price increase could be a mild adjustment on certain models. For instance the SS sports models could absorb another 5% without too much bother. The exp1 seems expensive at £4.8k and the no date sub a comparative deal at £5.5k.
Get a Grand Seiko.
Hope they increase the price after I get my SkyD. I don't think they will increase the prices this year.

Loads of talk over on TRF, what do you guys think, yes or no?

So if they increase the prices let's think about that, if they go with the usual 9 or so percent...
- Submariner in the region of £7000
- Air King £5000
- SD43 over £9000
- All-gold Daytonas will break £30k, with Oysterflex models at £24-25k or so
- Daytona will be around £9k in steel (this one still seems cheap to me)
- What looked like a good deal with the steel sky-dweller is already pushing another £1000 or so on top
- Deep Sea will be getting on for £10k
Now it's getting really serious!
Someone from rolexforums.com probably did the rounds of those shops before you and put the thought into the salespeople's willing heads....
I have everything to gain from a price rise or even stoking anticipation of a price rise. At this moment I have heard nothing despite shaking my usual trees.
Are the usual triggers in place? To an extent, yes. When an adjustment comes it will most likely take effect at the start of a month, but for my money the stars are not aligned just yet --- or have not been aligned long enough just yet --- for it to come so soon.
W44NNE, the steel Daytona RRP is already £9,100.....and there is no "usual" level of increase, just as there is no "usual" length of time between rises.

Sounds like you think it is coming then.......
What region are you thinking is a more likely timeline? I have enjoyed your speculations previously
There are many on the forum who cannot resist clicking on such threads but then feel guilty for having done so, a feeling which some work out by attacking those others who have shared an opinion or informed insight.
Last autumn I was confident a rise had to happen and indeed it did --- a couple of months later than I expected (after correctly saying for some years that NO increase should be expected prior to that), but in late October tz-ukers did get about a weeks' early warning of which many took advantage.
I won't give a forecast now because the position is not so clear. If things change, I'll post.

Thank you Haywood
I (and I suspect many others) appreciate you honest insight into such matters. Always interesting.
