Thread: Apple trackpad

    Apple trackpad

Broke the magic mouse, didnt like it anyway, always accidentally right clicking, and made using excel a pain, accidentally flicking about through columns and being a nuisance.

Possible to use track pad with excel? Easy to use?

    other alternatives?

Prefer a mouse. Plus with a wired mouse you don't get the battery issue.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Have used one for years, the only thing that got on my nerves was the direction of scrolling but fixed that in settings

Couldn't go back to a mouse now.

Prob using a set of AA's every 6-8 weeks so not too bad.

TIP - don't have a stainless steel looking coaster - things can get very messy very quickly.

I've switched from mouse, to trackpad, and now mouse again. Purely because I found the mouse more comfortable in the hand than turning my wrist slightly more for the trackpad.

+ 1 vote here for the trackpad, using one for about 7 yrs now and there's no going back to a mouse for me.
Buy one, give it a whirl and sell it on if you don't dig it.

Used on for years find it easier once you get used to it

I use one and there is an interesting undocumented (I think) feature. If you plug in the USB charger it overrides the bluetooth which is exactly what I wanted. I found wireless keyboard and mouse a problem with drop outs.

Ok, so adding to this again as I did say I was a happy user.

However over the last few days my trackpad has gone crazy, selecting by itself, moving the cursor, just erratic behaviour. It seems to be the same when just using the macbook air in built one as well.

Any ideas? I've reset SMC and PRAM no joy. IF I disconnect the bluetooth trackpad, all seems to work OK. Driving me insane!

No issues with wireless mouse per se, its just that are only a few USB ports on the iMac, and the sender , for the mouse, occupies one all to itself..

You could try the Logitech Ultrathin mouse - Bluetooth only with no need for a sender. I've used one on my Windows laptop for the last couple of years with no issues, and the specs say it works on the Mac as well.

I charge mine overnight from a mains USB plug, rather than from the laptop. Battery power seems to last for days....
