Eddie how about remaking one of these? :)

The question is not serious, as I cannot imagine there is much demand, but I thought I would share this little find.

This is a picture of my Precista staking set. I have not come across another one before, so I expect that they are quite rare. I have seen other sets with exactly the same design (including the case) under different brands so I do not think it was actually manufactured by Precista, but I really like it nonetheless. I was lucky as it is in fantastic condition.

For those who don't know, a staking set is a collection of punches and anvils. They are held perfectly upright in the tool, which allows very precise and accurate work. It is one of the most versatile tool in watch and clockmaking. It has a multitude of uses such as riveting balance staff on balance wheel, closing holes, flattening mainspring barrel lid, I could go on...

I have absolutely no need for them, but I'd still love a set!!!

Quite possibly, there are 2 spare holes. But i am not missing anything from the set personally, i have never come across a task I could not do with the punches and anvils I have

Yes, the glass is glass, I am always very cautious with it as it would be quite easy to break it!

Lovely, would have been simpler to make it without curved glass, what beautiful attention to detail, craftsmanship for it's own sake.
