Doesn't look like your typical Panerai.

I've seen it in the flesh - it's very nice, I always love multiple centre chrono hands, the splash of colours works for me, and it didn't look overly large (I didn't try it on, so it may just be well proportioned). The vibe I got from it was that it somehow tries to be modern but the Panerai DNA holds it back to the watch's detriment; I feel they should have been even bolder with it.

Nice splash of colour to the dial, the 1950’s case is a great shape and the chromo is classic. Good sporty watch

I'm a sucker for a bit of colour, it gets my vote

Another like.... it's clearly a Panerai but the splash of colour really works for me.
They've come out with some really good designs recently.

Tried one the other week. Nice but other plainer examples would be my preference.

I think someone else posted a pic of this model with some others. I really like it, as someone else said the splash of colour I think really works. I havent seen it in the flesh though, fisrt impressions on the picture are positive.

The Panerai 526 is also a stunner, 47mm Chronos work really well

The watch is fugly but the use of colour has been done remarkably well.

No, its exactly like your typical Panerai, with the addition of a couple of iffy coloured bits!

Ha! Some things never change. You should try a Panerai if you haven't.

Why? I've tried on those Pateks with the 1970s cases and was amazed to find I dislike them as much on the wrist as I do in photos. I just ended up feeling sorry for the people who made those beautiful movements, knowing they'd be be wrapped in such nasty cases/dials.

I love the watch, I do like a touch of blue in a timepiece. Don't like the Americas cup reference, especially as it appears that they may have backed a looser.

Just checked the price. 14.5k. Not cheap.

Agree about those Patek cases but Panerai is different. Sure it is marmite and it may not be for you but if you haven't, try a mate's Panerai for a few days and see how you feel about it.

47mm and £14450 I no longer like it especially at that price. Lots of watches at that level appeal more.

+1. I also prefer the comfort of the radiomir 1940 case to the luminor 1950.

Looks like a nice fashion watch. Think the tin opener is a bit over the top. What's the red button for?

Almost 15k. A tad absurd, IMHO.

Attractive watch though. I really like the crown guards on Panerais, they are certainly different.

  25. #25
I really like it ,it may be nearly 15k but I bet you can get one nearer 10k once it's been out 6 months

Not my favourite Panerai, for that price there are others I'd much rather have. Crown guard is a must for me though so it's got that going for it

Ok. Point taken. I just didn't want someone who obviously cares for fine watches to dismiss it out of hand.

It is a fine watch on its own inspite of the theme and Orqcle connection. I am sure though Oracle's loss takes some luster off.

As with the Pateks, I know the craftsmanship and materials* are top notch, it's the design I don't like. I'm wearing a transitional Heuer 2446 (like the Rindt) today, the dial and hands are perfectly balanced (no date) and at 39mm it's the perfect size. Sure, I have some monstrosities in my collection like the Omega Big Blue, PloProf and Marine Chronometer, but they're tool watches shaped and designed that way for a purpose (if it helps, I don't like the modern PloProfs!). I don't mind the original WW2 Panerais but if one was available for £2k I wouldn't sell one of my watches to buy it.

*excluding the Brooklyn Bridge, that is.
