    More browsing.....but no buying....yet.

Went to Manchester yesterday, buy I wasn't allowed to look at anything shiny.

We had to go into a jewellers though when we went to the Trafford centre as I had to pick up my Rado from service. While we were there I thought I'd try my luck and suggest to the other half that I try some watches on. My plan worked.

However, I still can't decide what to buy. What do you think of the options?

I'm not sure whether the last photo indicated a yes or a no decision!

That's because he was in the Trafford Centre Rick

The GMT Master is nice, £5.5k from a shop seems quite cheap to me.

I wasn't sure how much they go for as I've not looked at them before. I think it was about 15 years old from what I remember.

All lovely watches, there is a pretty big price spread among them though, the Omega 2531.80 to a Rolex Sub is a large price differential. I would buy something that filled a gap in my collection, if you have a lot of divers get the GMT for instance.

It's older than that, they stopped making the tritium dial in 1997.

    I think it's a 16700 but I'm no expert.

You may be right. I wasn't really listening when he told me the age. 😂

I've not got a diver at the moment. I had a mid size Seamaster, but that went. 🤤

The 27 year old Sub was up at £8.5k. Even the salesman said he thought the guy who valued it was on drugs when he put the valuation on it.

    It's a 2541.80 — quartz.

Alan, can I ask how much they wanted for it?

That was £1650. I can get a new black auto for about £2300.

I thought that as well. The ones on eBay are going for around the £1k mark.

If it's a choice between an old quartz seamaster and a new auto for £600 more, then I know where my money will be going.

Goldsmiths on the ground floor opposite the Omega boutique. Earnest Jones also have a pre-owned case upstairs.

Back then they were £3-400 less than a 16610, now they're £5-700 more!
