Thread: Nautilus: Blue or white dial?

    Nautilus: Blue or white dial?

Popped into my AD yesterday - should get one in around 12 months.

I was going to go blue dial - but tried on the white and must admit it, too, is a lovely looking watch.

So, what's the preference on here?

    Blue

    or white?

Sadly, I cannot afford the 5726 (TBH, I can't really afford the 5711 - but making an effort to stretch for it!), as this is my favourite in the Nautilus range:

Depending on your existing collection I'd go blue but the white surely is an amazing summer watch.

There is a difference in the blue shades of the Nautilus and the RO. I like the RO blue better.

I love my white dial one. Arguably the nicest white dial around. I don't have a picture of it in my phone, will post a picture later when I get a chance to snap it.

Detailing is immaculate. I enjoy looking at it everytime I wear it or take it out to wind.

Its not a watch I'd buy but I prefer the blue!

It'll be Blue for me for the 5711 (being the purest form) and white for the 5726.

I suspect most will say blue but for me it was an easy choice, white

John, it's got to be blue.

White is ok when you have other PP's. I think you'd regret buying a white one.

USD 19k! You can't even get a preowned loose blue dial 5711 now at this price.

Most people will say blue but had the white been the more "rare" and sought after one not sure people will say the same thing. I have had the luxury to have both, whilst from an investment perspective the BLUE is the one to get. However the white is very striking and feels more crisp and modern. On the wrist the blue 5711 just felt very dull after a while, even though it photographed well.

The 5726 btw is stunning and is the next Nautilus on my list!

I saw a white one in a window around Hatton Garden the other day - it did have a very fresh and clean feel to it that you could learn to love. However, white dialled sports watches always feel right in the summer. The rest of the year round I'd take the blue. The white was much more appealing than I expected though, and there's something to be said for the less obvious choice, especially at the right price. At the same price though, blue.

Reckon i prefer the white dial of the two. You tried one on in your AD ?? when i was in London recently and asked if they had any stock, it was a playful laugh and "you know the answer to that sir"

  26. #26
Looks like Blue makes sense - especially as I definitely don't have the funds to buy one of each as suggested above!

It is a stretch to buy just one - but if you don't push and stretch to get daft, overpriced objects that you obsess about, what's the point!!

As you've one eye on resale there is only one answer here.....as you know John! But here are three for you....

It was the AD's watch - he had it on and took it off for me to try.

It is so much thinner than the 5726 - it really was quite surprising.

    I'm in the blue camp.

I put my name down on the list an AD in Manchester in October.

No massively confident on getting a call though. We'll see.

If I did get a call Id have to let a couple of my others go to fund it but I can see the Nautilus being the ultimate keeper. It would be hard deciding what else to keep with it though. I fear whatever else I wore Id always wish I had the Nautilus on my wrist.

I would normally always say white, but in this case I think I would go for the blue, in some ways it just appears more classy and gives more depth than the white.

Imagine you might get a white sooner.

I am supposed to get a blue in October.

The white surprised me when I saw it in person, it was very striking and not the "garage door" (sorry it was a quote ive seen bandied about for it) that I had expected.

Blue for me - should be here within the next month or so.
White is much easier to get - I have been offered the white version of the 5711 at two separate Patek ADs but declined.

    Nautilus: Blue or white dial?

I was after the blue, was offered the white and am totally in love with it. It pops like... errr, a popping thing.

Same here actually. I was after the blue then this white became available so I took it. No regrets at all.

Always the blue for the 5711. Think some of the other models look better with the white dial.

    Blue all the way.

So much dough for a SS watch. You're into full fat Rolex gold for that money.

    PP is special though.

Just to understand the competition, what is full fat Rolex gold? (Just for my education...

I think he means a full gold model, so case and bracelet.

The 5711 has got to be blue though, not that I'd ever spend that on a SS watch.

You Buy a watch for YOU, not for everyone else.......

Put on your big-boy's pants and decide for YOU.
