It's amazing how many haters he has though. The pretentious musos were giving him pelters for being the headliner but it happens all the time. I'd say the crowd are proving it was a good choice, just like they did las year for Adele and for Level 42 in 1986.

Love the Patek though
It's great but the crowd seem underwhelmed. I like his stuff, fresh, original and he's very talented but I like to see an artist set the crowd on fire. They seem a little subdued, enjoying it for sure, but not on fire.

I think hes brilliant, supremely talented and seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
However i think its asking a lot of 1 guy and his guitar to hold the main stage at Glasto.
Especially after the Foo Fighters lit the place up last night
I like him, but I had low expectations of this.
He is raw talent, I think it is a fantastic set. In my opinion he is pulling it off and then some.

Haven't seen any really great performances this time, that said the wife quite liked XX but I've found the line up as Avalable via the 'red button' to be meh.
He seems a nice guy, I'm afraid that's as much praise as I could muster, but each to their own.
I thought Nile Rodgers was brilliant, Barry Gibb seemed to hold his own as well, not sure about ES
ES is a fantastic musician and song writer but basically the best busker in the world. As a stage act he is rather lacking, there is only so much one ginge and a guitar can do to maintain interest. Compare with Foo Fighters last night, different ballgame altogether!

Talented guy obviously but personally I find his stuff a bit meh.

ES technically wows me but very very quickly bores me to tears.
Foo's last night were amazing, best live band in the world today.
There's quite a few artists sets i can't find on iPlayer. Loyle Carner being one.
Hope some of you caught Sampha doing one song in the BBC 2 treehouse earlier, the boy is a massive talent.

I'm with you. His performance at the Olympics of Wish You Were Here with Pink Floyd was sublime but generally - not my thing.
Loyle Carner was fantastic. I saw quite a few live sets via the BBC red button this year and his was amongst the very best. His album is also my favourite of 2017 so far.
I thought Barry Gibb, London Grammar and The XX were amongst the best of the other live performances.
Radiohead I love, but I found their set a bit lukewarm. I also really like the Foo Fighters, but some of their performance seemed to drag a bit.
I'll try to catch Sampha's live set from the Sunday on catch up as I was pretty impressed when I heard him do some live tracks for 6Music a few months ago.
As for Ed Sheeran, he's got a decent voice and has the "showman" side to carry off a big gig.
He also has quite a few good melodies, although I find it a little strange that such a vaunted "song writing" talent has at least one co-writer on his best known songs. (This is beyond a simple music/lyrics team like Elton John/Bernie Taupin and implies significant melodic and lyrical contribution from a lot of professional song writers).
I also agree with some of the comments above that the "one man band" thing wears a little thin after a few songs. A loop pedal can really enrich the performances of struggling musicians when they're not in a position to get a band together, but once they're on the road to success I don't think it adds much - it can take an unnecessary amount of time to get a song started and the sonic variety is pretty limited compared to a group set-up, even with someone as adept at using one as Ed Sheeran.

Don't think he should have been a headliner. The Foo Fighters were much better, Chic were really tight and The Killers played the set of the weekend.
I don't get all of this Ed Sheeran love, I find him bloody boring.
A sort of MOR type music for the Mums.
Foo fighters were the best IMO and I'm not even a fan.

I'm not really keen on the Foo Fighters music, but thought they were superb live.
I do like Ed Sheeran's music but got bored after a couple of tracks and switched him off.
Playing alone with a loop pedal may be fine for a small more intimate gig, but I think it just didn't work on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury.

Ed didn't quite captivate me the same way.. But clearly talented and a nice Patek as noted above.

Watched ES last night. On the one hand it's great to see a musician doing it old school.
However, he's not really my cuppa. Then again I'm still stuck listening to the likes of Freddie King, JJ Cale, James Brown, The JB's etc etc so I'm a bit stuck in the past. I take my hat off to him though, and in so many ways he's this generations' darling.
