The date version of the sub is much more popular as far as I am aware
Given the massive popularity of the ND Sub and the Daytona does anyone have any idea why Rolex don't produce ND and possibly non-cyclops versions of their full range?

Like a ND GMT or Explorer II? All the others are covered. I would think GMT watches should have a date too, if you want a GMT function, you would probably want a date.
I dont think a non date, Day-date would work. The OP picks this up.
There are more ND models from Rolex than date aren't there?

I was thinking particularly of popular Rolex models like the SD or the Smurf. It's a personal question because I'm getting very serious about a smurf as a lifetime keeper and would buy right now if there was an ND.
''A lifetime keeper''. There's optimism for you .
i wouldn't expect that too soon tbh. Rolex have never made the coloured subs with ND so can't imagine they'd start. You could always whip the cyclops off.
The Day Date would just be a Day
It's just a matter of time...
If you were willing to pay retail price I suspect that they would not be concerned what you wished to call it....

My type of cheapskate wouldn't consider rrp, which, as it's not in the hi-demand bracket, isn't really required.
Always a good choice of 2nd user ones in top nick at reasonable discount from rrp.
But I so much prefer it's basic brother as ND that the lack of ND version is genuinely stalling the purchase.
And this is the point. If they know how popular the basic ND sub is, why don't they offer an ND smurf?
Obviously it'd sell...
