Charlie don't surf
I realise this might be a stupid question but have any of you done any surfing in Asia?
We'll be headed out there later in the year and will likely be in Burma, Vietnam or Thailand at some point, but could consider other countries. We'll have the children with us so ideally needs to be a fairly safe area to swim in.
We won't make it to Oz - my preferred destination - and my knowledge of surfing elsewhere in the region is non-existent.
I can Google it of course but just wondered if anyone has first-hand experience.
TIA

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
There is some limited surfing in Thailand and Vietnam (very seasonal)
Sri Lanka has some relatively easy surf beaches, and its a wonderful country.
But when you talk about S.E. Asia and surfing it is all about Indonesia. Bali is the obvious choice but you can find breaks of every level all across Java and Sumatra.
