Grand Seiko North west England Cheshire manchester area

    Sigh !!!!

Can anyone point me to a bricks and mortar in the above area for a Grand Seiko touchy feely?

I rang Seiko and they gave me a list of "dealers" - absolutely crass

One said that they didn't have any in stock but they could sell me a Casio for about £50 -60

I am not impressed so far in my exploratory adventures - not one in the Trafford centre FFS !!

    Thanks for any info

    B

As above a day trip via Transpennine train or M62 is called for. I've been in the Jura shop in Leeds a few times- very helpful staff.

You could just buy one online. There's no risk . You are unlikely to be disappointed. Or have a day out in London once the boutique opens. I'm staying away, Because of the temptation.

They are helpful. Jake, the store manager, is brilliant. Not a huge amount of GS stock in at the moment, although they have received two quartz watches (black and white face) with the new branding.

Agreed. Happy to talk about watches and seem knowledgeable too.
Saw some in the case when I was there in May.Looked very nicely finished indeed.Tempting.
If I saw a GS with luminous dial I would probably be reaching for my wallet.

    Thanks all.

I will be doing some work near Harrogate in a few weeks so a trip to Leeds seems to be on.

    Thanks again

Grand Seiko are opening a Boutique in central London anytime now. I think this is in the Old Brompton Road near Harrods. Should be quite a shop.

Yep, being in the north west means Jura in Leeds is your best bet. They don't have a huge selection but at least you can get a (literal) feel for the brand. Having said that, they keep the GS upstairs and the last 2 times I've been in Leeds I've not been able to view them as the upstairs was closed off due to not having enough staff - or maybe they just didn't like the look of me!

I'm a big fan but like with the majority of brands I wouldn't recommend buying brand new from them. If you decide they are for you it's probably best picking one up from SC or equivalent.

    Deacons

If you ever have a reason to go to Swindon (can't guess one off the top of my head) Deacons have an excellent selection of Grand Seiko and other Seiko high end. I guess it's something to do with being near a Honda factory.
