The concept is of course extremely tacky, but as for the watch itself, I've seen far far far worse!

If any band was aligned to a watch then surely AC/DC would be Hublot. Zenith have the Rolling Stones tie-in. Foo Fighters would prob be G-Shock given how hard they play. For Pink Floyd only one brand.

Shouldn't an AC/DC watch be made from a heavy metal and be electric?

    It could have been worse.
In fact, the David Bowie watch was worse (in my (usually correct) opinion)

I was thinking more along the lines of “For those about to puke!”

But my primary questions are :

    Is the back in Black?

    and.....

Was the dirty deed done dirt cheap?

Forgive me for mentioning this again for the umpteenth time but I really do find Raymond Weil to be spectacularly clueless in terms of their brand identity and marketing. It's muddled, there's never any clear articulation of what the brand stands for/its USP and some of the advertising creative used over the years would have Dali and Magritte scratching their collective heads in befuddlement. Zenith - a brand I have a great deal of admiration and respect for - lost a lot of brownie points with me when they brought out the Rolling Stones, Cohiba and Range Rover watches, but I consoled myself with the thought that these things were passing (albeit unfortunate) distractions from a bread and butter range that is solid quality and has horological integrity. The recent stuff from Weil? Well that's just guff...

I’m in full agreement with your views on RW here. It’s all so random with no clear (that I can make out) long term strategy.

I fail to understand many brand alliances. They seem very short term and are often ill-thought out in terms of common brand values.
