Wonderful gesture, kudos Christian! I'd like to participate too.
Well, this is one to remember. I just hit the enter button in the 'random number generator' page... and the winner is Der Amf. None other than the guy who contributed more to this thread than I did (except the initial post and obviously the watch). Congrats mate, it's not as if I interfered in any way, but I sure am happy that it lands with you! Good karma and whatnot :)
There were 40 contributions counted, with about 1250 pounds gathered. Not bad, not bad at all.
So there it is - Ric is the new owner of a pretty cool Junghans Meister Driver watch :)
And the consolation price (Rotary Navitimer, generously provided by unclealec & Dave O'Sullivan) goes to DACC, congrats as well! Unclealec's presentation of the watch (post #23) makes it priceless :D
Last but not least, many, many thanks to all who contributed!
Cheers and have a great Saturday evening,
Christian
Well done everyone

Very well done Christian, Alec and Dave; congratulations to the winners!
Congrats to the winners! A nice result for the charities too, I'd say.
Well done to all, and congrats to the winners. I like to see karma flow positively.

How apt a result that was!
Well done Wooster.
That could be actual proof of good karma
Congratulations
well done everyone! rgds dave
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Well done to the winners and kudos for the op for doing this
People who approve of karma should be especially happy knowing that I had already said to myself that if I won the watch, I would be giving it to the friend of mine who also entered the raffle. He has heard enough of my watches coming and going to have been more than a little watch curious. After he had entered the raffle I showed him a picture of the watch that was up for grabs, knowing it would be to his taste. The rules of language permissible in WT don't allow me to cut and paste his reply, but we can be sure its going to be going to a very happy home, indeed.
Well done Wooster, well done Der Amf, and I dare say that lucky B may even want to stretch to a whisky chaser with that pint.
Top work all round.
Congratulations Der Amf (great link by the way), well done Wooster, very noble and selfless of you , and well done all contributors.
looking forward to seeing the pictures of the watch and new owner, I'm sure he will be over he moon. I would be, it's a very nice watch.
A big THUMBS UP for the gracious act by the 3 gentlemen Christian, Alec and Dave
Christian's generosity and Ric's gift are incredible gestures - remarkable guys!
On the subject of Karma, the runners up prize went to the man who just won the PRS10 auction on SC...

Blimey, B is going to be very pleased with this..... And what's this also in the box?!
You know when you're a little kid when it was your brother's birthday would get a little consolation present, so that you wouldn't feel left out.....
Thank you Christian!
After multiple unavoidable postponements, we finally reached this the moment:
Since his previous experience of watches was borrowing a 70s
Soviet dress watch of mine for a while, this very slender Junghans is bang in line with what he thinks a watch should be like, and we can be sure that it's found a very happy home.
that photo's perspective has done a fantastic job of totally misrepresentating his arm. But it has caught the subtlety of the dial nicely

I feel awful for the delay in responding to this, I was lucky to win the runners up prize in the Grenfell raffle and received the Rotary "Navitimer". Unclealec was excellent in sending the watch, but have been travelling a fair bit and haven't had the chance to take any photos or post a thank you.
I've tried to show the watch some love and affection and show it what it's supposed to be doing:

It's had no wrist time so far so watch this space - it may well come up for auction (again) in the neat future :-)
